I have a new website project I want to launch and I want to use Nigeria Hosting company. My fear is, wouldn't they (Hosting Company) extract my entire files and Database and come up with similar project over time?

Please Web Guru kindly advise and share your experience and thought. I want to know if these Hosting Companies don't know such

Why not get a VPS from any of AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Digital Ocean. These companies are reputable, plus you can encrypt the hard disk given to you.

Does it support SSH and what's the cost like?

Of course, they come with SSH support. You can get them for as low as $5 per month.

If you don't trust the company then switch over to another hosting or better still get a clod account with digital ocean

I only recommend Nigerian hosting for small business owners who want to just give their business an online presence and for someone who just want to learn how to host a website or run demo scripts with less than 100 page views per day.

other than that, dont use them for important project except you want to keep crying. all this host you see up and down on nairaland with mouth watering offer will end up disappointing you with their limited features.

they will tell you unlimited bandwidth, ssd etc but some important php modules will not be activated to run some script that requires it.

also they will not waste time in suspending your account without informing you if they noticed any spike in CPU usage.they will pack 1 million users to share 4gig ram of vps server especially those parading them self on nairaland with their hosting packages. they know themselves. I will not mention names.

that is how one of them suggested I move to their vps plan that cost #8500 per month with #4500 for Cpanel subscription per month.

currently I am running the same site on a vps server including Cpanel all together paying less than the amount they charged for only vps. with same specs
