The Christian faith becomes nothing, should churches be shut down. We have faith in the miracles Jesus did...and still does. If God could heal people with the dreaded HIV in my church, what the hell is the Coronavirus?

Joshua Opayinka, chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in one of the Western States of Nigeria has declared that churches would not stop holding services because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the pandemic was an evil spirit floating around the world and would find it impossible to enter the church.

Opayinka, who spoke to the BBN Yoruba, said only the power of prayers could stop the virus from spreading.

“They cannot tell us to close worship centres because of coronavirus; cutting the head off is not the solution to a headache,” he said, stressing that God was aware of the pandemic sweeping through the world and only had the solution.

The cleric urged Christians to intensify prayers to God to bring an end to the pandemic, adding that God killed Ebola and the congregation should call Him again to kill coronavirus.

Opayinka said: “The evil spirit that travels around the world is what is called Coronavirus, anybody who brings this spirit to the church will not be able to enter the church, the spirit will not enter the church,” he declared.

The cleric said the church would abide by any instruction given by the government over coronavirus but urged it not to shutdown worship centres because only congregational worship would provide solution to the pandemic.

But there are constituted authority in the bible that the church harmlessly and wisely disobeyed as to obey God rather mere men, and marched forward in one accord because of the divine working power of the Most High God in Christ Jesus in them (Eph 3:20). They were strongly moved and joyfully motivated by faith as the constituted authority were moved and terrified by sight! Reason, one of the constituents urged his eye-sighted colleagues to leave Jesus Christ and His followers, and watch truly if God is with them. Then was the government's authority submitted to the early Church's authority over satan and his demons, death, curses, familiar spirits, religious and pharisee spirits, diseases, sicknesses, viruses, oppressions, extortions, injustices, poverty, hatred, communal division, and hypocrisies invading the lands.

Now, the Church authority has spoken as declared by God. Can the government's authority peacefully submit to God's authority given to the Church?

I think our pastors should pray harder against Corona virus, not just the congregation. However, I believe that God can really and will put a stop to the corona pandemic, even if we worship online

You are very stubborn and a rebel to constituted authority. The government has not asked that you stop worshipping your God. Suspend the church gathering for now till the covid-19 clears off. But here you are, proving so adamant.

Even Jesus Christ obeyed the government during his time, as long as it did not interfere with his worship to God.

Learn to be flexible and reasonable. Being a gullible fellow will not lead you to salvation.
