COVID-19: Chevron Lockdown Escravos

Chevron Nigeria Limited is locking down it Escravos terminal for two weeks after an expatriate was tested positive of the deadly coronavirus.

The expatriate had joined the company's flight from Lagos to Escravos but after being tested on arrival, he shows positive of symptom of the dreaded coronavirus.

There was also report of contacts with other Nigerians on-board with him.

All workers had been told to sit at home for the next two weeks pending medical evaluation of the situation.

Fulmigation of the facilities including places where those in contact with the expatriate entered was carried out yesterday.

The essence of the sit at home is to minimize possible spread of the virus and allow health workers to sanitize the facilities.

They didn’t lock down for two weeks, they only asked the community workers who comes in and out everyday to stay at home for 2weeks while their operations continues as usual for the residence who stays in the facility throughout their work..they are still observing normal operation and crew changes with helicopters and Dash 8 Aero/arik planes
