Hello People,

I presently reside in Nigeria with my Irish citizen child, who is 16 years old. I plan on traveling to the UK in July to apply for pre-settled status under the Eu Settlement Scheme. I will be going with my 3 other children who are not EU citizens.

I also plan on residing in Manchester. Is this a good location for a young family and which areas are safe and affordable to live in?

Again will it be better to apply for the long stay Irish visa? I hear it takes a very long time to get a response. My child will be 17 this year and I need to get this done before he is 18.

Please I need to hear from people in a similar situation or who have some knowledge/experience on the this. I would appreciate your advice, tips, suggestions and ideas.

Thank you.
