Justiceleague1:So PDP will field someone from South East as their Presidential flag bearer. APC is likely to field someone from SW. That is a welcome development. |

Indispensable85:That time might be too late. This is the time to talk about the SE candidates. The SE politicians do not appear ready. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 3:25pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:Yorubas in PDP are likely to clinch the Presidential ticket. Already, Bode George has signified interest. Fayose too might contest (he is another SE hero). The South East does not appear to be ready to play National politics. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 3:28pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:South East is not ready to contest. The North too is ready for power to go back to the South. Easy win for SW. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 3:49pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:But why dont you want to field a. presidential candidate from SE in PDP or APC? |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by Justiceleague1: 3:54pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
deji17:Make no mistakes, someone from SE will never contest against someone from the south- SW or SS. He will rather back out and support him. Or support a stranger, northerner. I wonder how,why you south west people are looking forward to contesting, would want to contest against a fellow southerner, what kind of people are you?! I thought you were reasonable! |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 3:58pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
Justiceleague1:There is nothing wrong with contesting. Its a political contest not a war. OBJ contested against Falae. Ekwueme contested against OBJ for PDP slot. Under OBJ, South East had almost 5 Senate President. The post of minority leader in the Senate was contested by others before Abaribe gets it. So this idea of no contest is what is actually strange. |

deji17:Obj contested against falea, where is falea from? Now I know you ain't reasonable |

These sw people have turned into something else, pity. It's obvious it was a regrettable thing they did in hoisting the dullapo upon all ![]() It's an abomination for someone front the SE or SS to contest against someone from the SW. For the sw to look forward to contesting against a SE or SS,no problemo, the north will continue ruling. |

deji17:We want both tickets or nothing. On a level playing ground, yorubas can't win national election. It has always been like that since pre-independence when yorubas started losing elections.. The only time a yorubaman ever got elected as president was when the major parties fielded 2 yoruba men in 1999 to assuage them after they blackmailed the rest of the country to give them power. The same must be done in the East who have not had it, the two parties should field Easterners in 2023. Dr Ogbonnaya Onu in APC, Peter Obi in PDP. That way the East can also have their turn and rightfully so. We all know that marginalizing of the East gives some yorubas a lot of thrill, we in the East understand you thought process and are ready to ensure if yorubas cannot wait their turn in the spirit of zoning, then they will not also have the presidency. There are tons of qualified Igbos in both parties, zone both party tickets to the East and let an Easterner emerge the way OBJ emerged in the spirit of equity and zone. It is the only way yorubas can also have their turn after Ndigbo have done theirs. |

Justiceleague1:You should put your emotions in check. Falae is also Yoruba. Everyone is free to contest. Ekwueme contested against OBJ. Nobody calls him names because its a contest not a war. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 4:55pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:Ekwueme contested against OBJ for PDP ticket in 1998. No one asked the Igbo to step down for a Yoruba man then. No one has denied the Igbo in APC or any party from contesting. Rochas Okorocha contested against Buhari and he did very well at the primaries. |

LabDNA:All achievements started from dreams. Politics is a game. Let us contest. That is the beauty of democracy. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 5:00pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:Yorubas are not afraid to dream nor contest. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by LabDNA: 5:01pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
deji17:Stop trying to be clever by half, the OBJ vs Ekwueme primaries was a gentleman's thing. Before the primary it was already agreed OBJ will emerge to assuage the SW, the primary was just to fulfill all righteousness and follow INEC laws and guideline that says every party must hold supervises primaries. I know more about the political history of this country than you do. Go bury your head in history books and old newspapers like TNT, Champion newspapers, etc. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 5:07pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:You are going emotive about these things. Election is a contest and not war. Nothing ungentlemanly about contesting against each other in an election. Ekwueme wanted to win against OBJ. He lost the contest. No one is angry at the Igbos for that. Its a popularity contest. Let us contest. |

| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by LabDNA: 5:10pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
deji17:Dream on but the reality is that politics in Nigeria is not rocket science or football, it very predictable and everybody (even you) knows - that is impossible for two yoruba to emerge in the two major political parties. -that you've already damaged some of your goodwill with the Amotekun saga. - that yorubas have taken their rightful turn and the rest of the country will not let them jump the queue. -that if APC fields a yoruba, the SE+SS+ North alliance will defeat yoruba as usual as yoruba do not have the numbers and hardly win elections. -that there will be no yoruba president in 2023 after they have ruled for 16 years in PDP and another 16 years as VP in APC. Dreamers are allowed to dream, but reality cannot be wished away my brother. ![]() |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by LabDNA: 5:13pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
deji17:Sorry but the East will not contest with the SW, no matter how you play the emotion card. It is practical politics. PDP and AD zoned their ticket to the SWest in 1999 and they contested with themselves. Same must be done for the East. We have only two realities- an Eastern president or a Northern president in 2023. You don't really have much choices do you? |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 5:19pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:Whatever the South East chose to do is okay. The Yorubas are not afraid to contest or lose elections. Its a political contest not a war. Come 2023, by the grace of God Yorubas will contest. Yorubas will campaign in South East. Win or lose, there will be no ill feelings towards anyone. |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 5:22pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
LabDNA:The Yorubas will contest the 2023 elections . The South East should do what works for them. No ill feelings. This is the beauty of democracy. |

| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by Justiceleague1: 5:59pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
deji17:Oga in all fairness, the next president should come from the east. If you yorubas who scuttled the SS chance in 2015 now wants same position, then the other south have no option than to back the north. Make no mistakes,e mi o se omo nna o. ![]() |
| Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Seyi Makinde by deji17(op): 6:41pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
Justiceleague1:My brother, everyone is free to support whosoever they want. In 1993, a Tofa won majority votes in SE, even when a Yoruba man was contesting. The Yoruba man defeated Tofa in Kano state. An Atiku won in 2 out of the 6 SW states, even when a Yoruba man was the VP candidate of APC. That is the beauty of democracy. Let us contest. If the South East believes that their interest is better served under a Northern candidate or PDP, by all means vote for them. Yoruba will contest in 2023. |
