I would never wear second-hand clothes. I would rather wear some Nigerian made clothes than something that other people wore in the past. I don't know what clothes do you guys like, but I am right now wearing clothes from https://braap.cc/. They have really good clothing for bikers. I have recently bought myself a really cool motorcycle, and I really like everything about that. That's why I have ordered a lot of really good and qualitative gear and clothing from braap. I am really satisfied with their products, they are just awesome.

You are so right. Many thanks for this insight.

Read the comments and you will see why Nigeria is the way it is. Off topic contributions everywhere! Yes it destroying our clothing industries , however it is providing a solution to a poor nation. To the extent people who can afford new clothes still buy Okrika and you will never know. Why spend money
on one shirt, when you can get 3 good ones. grin

This makes so much sense. We live in an environment that is extremely price sensitive.

Folabimi:
The bottom line is consumers are in affordable and quality clothes. So people will go for the one that gives them these options.

Really? That's interesting... So why do people look down on them. What are the weak and smelly stuff though? I saw a documentary on these exports. They go through so much sanitization and cleaning that they look like new.

eedimo:
Ladies first!!!
Growing up with the girls make you realize that it's OKIRIKA OR NOTHING.

It still doesn't change how much I hate the weak and smelly stuffs.

Wow. There really is a market for this. So how do you feel about a ban on these imports to grow the local economy?

Kendumazy:
Lots of foreign second hand that are like brand new hence people realized that "Na Mumu dey go boutique" in second hand, you will get to select uncommon designs that you can never see someone wearing it and other many reasons. Everything is based on money sha. If level change wella. Person go go for brand new.

But it appears there is a HUGE market for it. So why do people frown at it if it is filling a need?

AntiWailer:
Lol

Second hand cloth is a NO NO For me right from time.

Really? But second hand is also a big thing abroad. Vintage they call it.

Ogilinsaka:
If you see how scavengers scout for second hands clothes or handle them abroad, you'd NEVER in your life wear them. Tueh!
Re: Foreign Second Hand Clothes Or New Nigerian Made Clothes. Which Do You Prefer? by martwayne001(op): 9:42pm On Mar 26, 2020
Exactly. That is also how I feel. Even though some can argue that it is too expensive. So the question now becomes would you buy a second hand outfit that was made in Nigeria?

Khaleell001:
As much as many folks here prefer second hand clothes, I think made in Nigerian clothes should be promoted because the domino effect here is ,it will increase our own self made products and also drive the quality upwards if there is competition for good materials.
It makes more economic sense to buy Nigerian product. .
We need to really and sincerely start growing our own.
