kumulus: You can't get GCam that way, Sir. The Gcam devices other than Google Pixels use is the ported versions by modders. For a start you can try this Gcam https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/MGC_6.2.030_RN7_V1a_FINAL.apk |

genius43: Okay thanks, I later figured...was just concerned about getting apps outside the store, don't want to start getting issues on this device (some modders can be mischievous) |

Editing There are some purists who feel that photos should not be edited and that the output of one's photos should be dependent on the capability of their camera. I personally believe (and this is my opinion) that this is like telling a lady not to use make-up. It's restrictive and it smacks of elitism of the worst sort. There are also others who do not know the purpose of editing and believe that that it's a magic wand for fixing bad photography. Such individuals get frustrated and skip from one editing app to another. It's always something else's fault, either the camera or the editing app. As good as GCam, people still complain about it. I would like to say that a bad driver is a bad driver. Even if you were to buy them a Lamborghini Diablo, they will still drive poorly. A bad photographer is a bad photographer, even with a Huawei P40, they'll still do badly. The editing in the world won't fix a bad photo. It won't automatically turn you into a master photographer. That's not what this is about. For me, photography is about letting others see the world through your eyes. Over time, you train your mind and your eyes to see beauty and you teach yourself (and others) how best to use the equipment at your disposal to capture such beauty. That's what this is about. The editing is only the tip. To enhance your photo and push it's limits. Over editing won't save your photos. It's only an enhancer, like make up on a beautiful lady. I know some of us who get on this page for the first time, see people doing stuff and want to get in right away and I admire the spirit but there are steps that I'll recommend. 1. Learn the equipment at your disposal 2. Learn to take good pictures 3. Learn to edit Life is a sequence, you can never go wrong by learning from the easy-intermediate-advanced process. And for those of us who edit, let your edits show us what you want us to see, what effect you're going for etc. A poor edit can ruin a good picture. Good morning all. 10 Likes |

atheistandproud: I can tell you this "Purists" are amateur who have never handled a real camera. In the world of professional photography, you will have to shoot in RAW (.DNG) and edit the photos the way you want. There is no professional photographer that doesn't edit his photo in one or the other. On smartphones, the camera algorithm does what it can to produce the most pleasing image, while this is possible on regular DSLR, there are any hardly any Auto modes and you have to set every thing manually from Focal length all the way to noise grain. Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Lightroom etc. are any Photographers second tool. 4 Likes |
