How can this type of thing be living in a residential area unnoticed till it grew this big

This is a rock python...a very endangered African snake species.

Too sad it had to be killed. There might have been another way.

And about him killing a snake, why do you think it wasn't in self defense? The snake was a threat to them in the compound. I used to always bash people that killed snakes till yesterday, when I got back and saw a snake in my parlor. I had no choice than to kill it.

That's a python . They are not poisonous. Neither is it big enough to strangle or eat you.

From the markings it looks like a ball python. They are COMPLETELY harmless and very shy of humans.

You just killed a beautiful defenceless animal.
