Nigeria records two new coronavirus cases — toll now 44 by Officialhorlah(m): 11:51pm On Mar 24, 2020
- Nigeria's coronavirus cases are now officially 44 after confirmation of two new cases
- This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control
- One is in Bauchi state while one is in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has
reported that there are two new cases of
coronavirus in Nigeria. The NCDC via its official Twitter account on Tuesday,
March 23, revealed that one case is from Bauchi
state while the other one is from the Federal Capital
Territory, Abuja bringing the total number of cases to 44. The tweet read: “Two new cases of #COVID19 have
been confirmed in Nigeria: 1 in FCT and 1 in Bauchi.
“The cases have travel history to Germany and the
UK. “As at 06:25 pm on 24th March, there are 44
confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have
been discharged with 1 death.”
In the last few days, there has been a sharp
increase in the magnitude of coronavirus cases in
Nigeria. This has caused subtle panic among citizens, as
many are now calling on the federal government to
lock down the country. Already, the Muhammadu Buhari's government is
taking very strict measures to contain the spread. On Monday, March 23, major decisions were taken
by the Buhari administration. The government asked some public servants to
work from home from Tuesday, March 24 via a directive issued by
Mrs Yemi Esan, the head of service of the federation. The Buhari's government also announced the
closure of all land borders and suspended its
weekly federal executive council meeting “until further notice.” The government had earlier placed restrictions on
travel to coronavirus worst-hit countries as the
world continued to battle the global pandemic.
President Buhari himself is at the receiving end of
the viral disease. His chief of staff, Abba Kyari tested positive to coronavirus. Already, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has gone into self-isolation after sitting close to Kyari at the last Federal Executive Council meeting held in
the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa. Osinbajo's chief of staff, Ade Ipaye, a Senior
Advocate of Nigeria like his boss, has also gone
into self-isolation.

Jeromejnr:
I have been seeing some deluded Athiest on here bashing religion and saying things like all religions (especially Christianity) are waiting for scientists to find a cure then they will thank God instead of the scientists.

First of all, many of those scientists are Christian's.

Secondly, most of the drugs you enjoy today were discovered by Christians e.g. Penicillin.

Thirdly, Hospitals were first founded by Christians.

Fourthly, United States were most of these cures come from was founded by strong Christian fathers who gave the country a good foundation.

Lastly, Athiests enjoy the benefits of Christian prayers today (although they don't know it). Because of this, most of them are still alive. But with that same breath, they choose to curse God.

So the question is, what has Athiesm contributed to the world?

Not up to Ten centuries ago when modern science was still young, Galileo Galilei, a Catholic, was standing before a criminal court which was also Ecclesiastical (christian bishops were part of the court). Skeptical Galileo had worked on his telescope , he was not lying. He saw that there were other planets and that the Earth revolved around the sun. In his time, religion was mixed with governance and not distinct from the State of Rome.

Galileo, like other scientists of his time , was at the verge of being sentenced to death for apostasy and blasphemy. The government not only beheaded scientists in that dark age, but also hung and burnt them on stake. Why was the Father of Modern Day Astronomy, the one whose foundational argument about the solar system has led to the establishment of space organizations like NASA today, risking a death sentence at a christian court?

The answer is simple. According to Joshua in the Bible when he went to war (would be termed a genocide today) he prayed to God and the "Sun stood still". The christian court argued that if Joshua in the Bible agreed that it was the "sun that stood still" then it means the sun was the moving solar body for nothing that does not move can stand still. The Christian court also argued that David in his Psalms acknowledged that God makes sun to rise from the East and set in the West. How then could a "stupid scientist" argue that the sun does not move . How could such "fool" rather the earth revolves.

There is no doubt that Galileo was a Catholic and a christian. But there is huge doubt that Christianity influenced his breakthrough in science. Christianity wanted to alter , disrupt and hinder his breakthrough. Christianity wanted him dead for apostasy and blasphemy even though he agreed to being a Christian. What do you think would happen if he outrightly said he was not one?

That's the story you do not see. When we talk about science and religion , we are not asking whether a Christian, Muslim , Buddhist or Atheist made a positive breakthrough in science. No, the procedures of science are Universal and as long as a person of any religion , race or gender follows that procedure, he will arrive at a scientific and real conclusion.
When we argue about science and religion we argue whether a telescope or a bible gave humanity initial knowledge about the status of the solar system.

When we argue about science and religion we argue whether it is a hand sanitizer (based on reason) or an anointing oil ( based on faith ) that washes away strains of the Coronavirus in our palms.

God airpus oo
We have a potential disaster in our hands. Most of these people with travel history have certainly made contacts and infected others which will surface in the coming weeks
Imagine if those with travel history have been compulsorily quarantined as at two weeks ago,
Thank God the useless leaders are not left out. But they problem is that they will ensure the best care for themselves

Our president has corona virus.
What's the hierarchy of succession of government in case of incasity.
Interesting and dire times we're in right now.
This thing go cause yawa for this world oo
Just imagine the president, vice president Senate president and deputy, house of reps speaker and deputy, head of judiciary of a country all infected and gone, then who will take over reigns of affairs, maybe one senator

It should be obvious by now that we can't keep up with tracing contacts of infected people.....the situation is getting out of control....

The best bet is to protect yourself.....No place like home.......

Stay home and stay safe

When Babangida proved stubborn, we prayed to God who warned baba and he stepped aside

When Abacha charged to us like Goliath , we cried to God , and he brought the situation under control.

When Obasanjo wanted 3rd term , we cried, God warned him and obasanjo listened and his punishment was kept on hold

Yaradua was a nice man and God took him away peacefully

Jonathan was a good man but the Jihadist didn't like him and his ambition was not worthy for any mans blood , he quietly quit.

Buhari and his cabal came to kill , steal and to destroy .we are crying to you Lord .since 5 years now ..,.let your will be done .
We cried to God
