Coronavirus: What Is Nairaland Giving Back To The Society? by KubwaBoy: 8:37pm On Mar 26, 2020
Since the news of this corona virus broke out in Nigeria, several individuals, corporate and civil organisations have donated relief and support materials to support the fight of the virus. News of Jack Ma, Atiku, Dangote, and some banks donating both cash and medical items broke out some days ago.
I think we should also task Seun to give back to the community no matter how small. Atleast, Nairaland is the most successful forum in Africa.
Nobody will be here to read news and comment if we all get wiped out by this virus.
Nairaland should to imbibe the act of Corporate Social Responsibility.

I like how Nigerians are trying to control people on how they spend their money.

If you help privately, they'll abuse you that you're not helping because they didn't hear of it.

If you help openly, they'll call you a show-off and tell you how empty drums make the loudest noise, then they'll start comparing you with silent givers. These same silent givers they abused earlier of not giving.

If you help like Jack Ma, they'll say the kits should be quarantined and see if he's not indirectly using it to kill more Nigerians.

If you're a billionaire and you help with 100 million, they'll say you're too stingy. These sets of people are not contributing a dime, they also refused to be obedient by staying at home to minimize the spread.

They think because they are poor they can't die and if they do die, they are going straight to Heaven, but the rich won't make Heaven because they didn't listen to their poor man's opinions. "COVID-19 is only a virus for rich people/politicians," is what they think. They are lazy, disobedient, entitled, controlling, and obnoxious sets of manipulative beings.

Nigerians should just be left to perish — we are too ungrateful, rude, controlling, and abusive.

If someone knows how to mass produce masks, preferably the n95 ones, so people can do their business without getting the virus, let us know.

Now, they are going to run. They don't have a skill apart from wacky degrees from wacky universities.

Skill = wealth.
Degrees = noise.
Trying to control another person's wealth = disturbance/manipulation.

Nigerians without skills, but just a certificate and access to Internet, love to disturb and manipulate others. This $h!t pisses me off.

If only Buhari can be half as proactive in thought as you alone. Commonsense dictates that preventive measure be prioritized above shut down strategy which is more of a copy and paste of advanced nation's policies approach. Masks don't appear that hard to make.

it is largely a thing of airborne viral load filtering fabric stitched unto some handle. Same thing too for sanitizers, we have the raw materials.

This is why I nod my head when I see Nigerians claiming to be more developed than Kenya or Uganda, or Rwanda. Development isn't a count of mansions and big cars. It is the ability to adapt to extreme and shock situations like these. Our per capital GDP is low and disperse. Accommodation aren't well spaced, water security=zero, food security=O.Y.O., The least I expect is the military engineers to be tasked along with willing scientists from the society to try and produce these items on the fly but Buhari is more concerned about his own life first.

But, facemask is proven to be ineffective.Why not just print some fliers, and send them to the hoods? One Mama in my area was hearing of the benefits of handwashing for the first time yesterday.
