Anytime I remember his impact in the UCL triumph of 2012, his sterlihg performances in the Olympic, Confederation cup, AFCON 2013, Europa Cup, etc, you can't give it to any other man apart from John Mikel Obi.

overrated doesn't mean they aren't good but their fans constantly comparing them to someone greater is what I mean by overrated.

If you ask an average Nigerian who is better between kanu and okocha most of them will mention okocho even though he never won anything personally significant and he is only known for his dribbles.

You didn't have to bring Messi to this, the reason I called maradona overrated is because his fans think of him as s God while in fact he's a fraud.

He played 490 official club games during his 21-year professional career, scoring 259 goals; for Argentina he played 91 games and scored 34 goals.

He won a world cup by cheating and if they were var during his era he would have been called a fraud and laughed out
Maradona stats are very good, hope you know that he's a midfielder??

Okocha overrated??
Maradona overrated??

You see why people always attack you Messi indomie fans...

You think if Messi and Ronaldo played football in the time of such players, they'd have up to 5 ballondors??

For you to call maradona overrated shows the kind of person you Messi fans are, only Messi isn't overrated... A maradona that lifted a Napoli to league titles winning best player and golden boot along the way... A maradona that put Argentina on the football map?

Alright Messi is the only non overrated player in the world

Okocha overrated? Really??
A master of midfield that carried a dead Bolton team playing with unskilled players like Davies and Jameel etc??
A midfield maestro that combined skills with dribbles even inventing his own step overs.. A great passer of the ball, freekicks, shoot technique... Really?

Bro you can attack his position, that I support 100% because what he wrote is close to senseless.. but don't lump all Messi fans into your generalization, that is dumb. I don't know why you guys like to stereotype and generalize like illiterates.

Op, your top shows when you started watching football. So, I won't begrudge you. That said, it is ridiculous finding Mikel there. Did you do your research well or was it down to ignorance that you wrote that Philip Osondu played with Kanu at Japan 93? Unbelievable.

I will give it to the legendary Mikel....Mikel played two opposing roles but it never reduced his performance.. He was playing Holding Midfield for Chelsea and Central Midfield for Nigeria but it did not stop him from performance.

He modified the Makalele role.
crucial in grinding out result and even indirectly played foundation for Simeone's negative football stuff.

Even at 32 he was a performer for Trabzonspor who wia topping the league.

Kanu is an attacker can be replaced easily in a team but Mikel is a Midfielder that can be replaced easily in a team

Op you know the answer to your question but it seems this lock down has made you create a thread.

Without any iota of DOUBT, Papillo remains the best.

His singular act at Atlanta '96 was phenomenal.
He single handedly took the team's fate in his hands and dribbled both Brazil and Argentina.
He secured an equaliser and sealed a desired WIN for us.

KANU NWANKWO
Kanu is a talented and skilful player capable of doing d totally unexpected n thus turning a game completely. His repertoire of goals n tricks is vast n has brought him success at club level, including dutch championship medals n a champion league medal. He has also been d nigerian dream team captain n won an olympic gold medal in 96 after recovering from a life threatening heart ailment.
Very gifted, with an eye 4 d unexpected, kanu is what commentators fondly call a 'crowd pleaser'. Kanu is da GOAT

Okocha unarguably is the best Nigerian dribbler of all times. He's an entertainer.

The essence of football is to score goals which he usually falls SHORT of.
