I came back about 10 days ago from the UK. I'm still under 14 days self isolation.

The first time I went to withdraw cash from an ATM with my card in London(either GTB or Firstbank), something strange happened.

I inserted my card and followed the usual prompts and I clicked cash and put in the amount and clicked enter. My card first came out. A prompt wrote I should take my card.

I was horrified. I thought my card had been rejected by the ATM. It had already been declined by POS machines at 2 retailers already.

My money, however, came out soon afterwards. With time, I realized that your card comes out first so you don't forget it, and then the cash. This is not only noble but thoughtful.

God knows how many times I've forgotten my card in a machine here in Nigeria. The last time was early last year in Grand Square supermarket, Ikeja. That thing pain me die. It's indescribable.

The guy helping my dad out too suffered the same fate on Saturday. He was at the bank on Monday queuing unsuccessfully to get a new one. There was a mad rush that Monday.

It's a concept they should introduce here. At least I'll stop forgetting my cards. Can I forget the cash? Only time will tell grin cheesy

Please leave your thoughts down whether it should be introduced here as well.

I did not go past london but I'm sure it would have been that way in the entire UK. Is it that way all over Europe?

You for forget your money and go with your card na. grin

I was just kidding. Not once did I forget my cash in London.

I feel a campaign be carried out to encourage the CBN to adopt the UK system. Majority of Nigerians will benefit except a few like yungmike grin grin grin grin

Nope. The country

Wow! I'm fascinated about the country as I read a lot about the economic reforms Sashvalilil (I know I've murdered his name), a former president or prime minister carried out. I learnt he sacked the entire police force and brought in new guys. I learnt he fought corruption and it became quite low under his rule.

Unfortunately, learned he was heavy-handed and eventually lost the election to a Russian sponsored billionaire.

How are things now?
