how is the dstv display compared to gotv? because I'm having the same problem and I want to know if wasting another money on dstv worth it? I hate the TV and gotv together currently. I stop subscribing it and if not for the free channels I wouldn't have been watching it now.

dstv is far better and clearer it has hdmi, but it's more expensive sha

Settled for maxi TV & I got the dstv, it's way better than my old gotv decoder

I settled for 32". Maxi is sold by Fouani (LG marketers), my gotv was the first generation I guess(big with no hdmi), the dstv is way better off in terms of picture and audio quality.
Infact Africa magic looks better on this than it was on my gotv with colours looking washed out

I got the dstv because of EPL anyways

It all depends on the technology of the decoder. If u must know, u can't compare dstv zappa HD decoder 2 explora 2 decoder. My people, the explora is a beast. The picture quality is far better than the zappa HD or other HD decoder. No point arguing, do some experiments. I av the 2 decoders, it's confirm

how much is the explorer currently?

I think it's 55k plus for compact bouquet.

If I may ask, is the DSTV Explora subscription same as the normal DSTV sub?

if u don't want the pvr function, it's the same. The extra 2500 is 4 d pvr, e.g record, pause, rewind, fast forward

Thanks a lot but one thing I’ve come to notice is that TV picture quality determines how clear and clean the picture looks on the TV, I just got a supposed 43” new LG TV from Alaba which I realized it’s 40”, thou it’s cheap.. 68k but I need no one to tell me the TV is an original fake. I’m using the old Gotv which is a bit okay in terms of picture quality, but am not yet satisfied at all, I’m contemplating on wether to take the TV to my dad or sell it and get a 49” or 50” tokunbo Toshiba or Panasonic and buy a DSTV decoder .... I’m a TV freak and I hate poor picture quality

Just what I'm going to do today. I'm going to the LG office for 43 inch. I don't know much it was sold years back but trust me the price has skyrocketed. I can't give up a good picture experience because of money... I love neat pictures. I'm so getting it instead of compromising and going to TV repairers to patronize them. Lol..
