Now this DPO has digged his own grave,it happens that Ogun State Police Command through intelligence report in Ibaara area of the State Capital,

Abeokuta has apprehended and remanded in custody a masquerade for disobeying the state government restriction order of more 25 people gathering in the state

Preliminary reports indicates that the masquerade was arrested by men of the Ibaara Police Station for allegedly threaten to deal with the Police operatives who came to enforce the order and disperse the gathering of his followers in ijeja àrea of the state

The masquerade guy was arrested on Sunday following complaints lodged by members of the public that some people had gathered in their hundreds celebrating their egungun festival

DSP Oyeyemi, further disclosed that upon report from the members of the public the policemen attached to the Ibaara division mobilised to the scene and warned the people to disperse as the masquerade threatened to deal with them if they proceed on dispersing his followers

However, the masquerade was hereby arrested and given a severe warning to avoid any form of convergence at the moment before he was released to a reliable surety

But after he was released shortly that is when his death was announced today.

You dont arrest egungun, and you dont derobe egungun.

There were far more ways this issue could have been better handled and situation contained.

I will advise others involved in the act to immediately go and offer sacrifice for forgiveness. Im sure Elders in that community would have reached to them by now.

Wisdom demand that the DPO should have taken the Egungun in his full regalia to any of the Obas or traditional rulers around that vicinity so that he will be cautioned. He ignorantly thought the regalia was just an out fit.

u don't humiliate d masquerade like that by uploading d pics of the carrier online because u should know strong families and name as a dpo in Abeokuta.. and am very sure they will contact d dpo with list of things/goods to buy to appease d gods but he will let d foreign religion get to his head so much and dare them..

The one that happen last in my town d police arrest d family member of d masquerade And not d masquerade, others visited and they resolve using d field and Sunday anytime the masquerade is about to display their tradition and culture

The said DPO might not have been a part of the masquerade saga at all I can bet my balls on that.

You kids just love being sentimental. The DPO has been sick for a while, he's been hospitalised for weeks. Probably during the masquerade incident.
