Was the rice given to only church members or shared to every Tom, D!ck and Harry?

Giving is the way forward.

The church should always set the pace.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry is against giving to the Church but they all want from the Church. Is that not ironic?

I trust Catholic church. Each Parish would have done something similar through its charity arm; St Vincent, but now, how will they conduct such charity when the churches are closed?

At unusual praise event last year, with more than 80,000 people in attendance, we all got fed and took gifts home. The food bank at Falomo is no longer operating. The Church, especially Catholic can do great things this period but it has been held back.
You are very right dear,

My parish Holy Cross Cathedral, has done theirs by calling every parishioners who are interested in food items.

We have a WhatsApp group that 90% of the members are including the priests.

So the information was disseminated on it.

Though I didn't collect since I have food that would sustain me.

Happy Palm sunday

Did your Priest not read the letter from Bishop to you? no more mass or gathering in the Church until after lock down. If you're truly a Catholic, are you not aware that periodically especially times like these, Easter period is when St Vincent give out food rations and clothes to the poor?(not only Catholics) contact them when the lockdown is over, they will tell you when they would conduct the next one. It's usually done around all parishes simultaneously. I'm a member of the society in my Parish.
You should read my response and understand very well before replying. I did not tell you that there was Mass. Read it well again and understand how they can reach out to parishioners with food items and cash.

St Vincent d Paul cannot reach out to the poor this time, except through what I explained before. Read and understand pls

I expect them to do more than that, just one member of the church can feed 1000 Nigerians without argument, if only to show off they can do it.
That's rich men church and I know it, they're are just sharing it among their class mtcheew
God gave you the same 24hrs, 2 hands, legs and eyes he gave the rich men.
They used their data on Job seeking sites while you use your own to insult people on Nairaland. That's what is responsible for your poverty life.

There are councils that need to sit before such monies are approved from Church account. This is why I laugh when atheists accuse all pastors and priests of spending money without being accountable to anyone for it.
The parish pastoral council are the people u talk about....and maybe bishop alfred martins. They are not hard to contact to do the needful. Meanwhile, the Vincent the Paul u talked about, it's we parishioners that gives them what they give the poor not the church. Stop defending what is not. They should get their acts together and give to their parishioners like others are doing.

We are saying the same thing, they call them business men that steal from their members but they are expecting gifts bought with stolen money.
They collect from their members, so let them give back. The Bible says "give and it shall be given back to you, pressed and shaken". So let all freed sheepies collect from their G.O or rather used the money they didn't give to the Church from where they saved it. PERIOD!

It is better to enter into THE Kingdom of God starving that survive on food bought by thieves with stolen money!

They sent it to how many house hold?
Among the beneficiaries, are there non tithe payers?
Are poor members beneficiaries too?
Are the people the pastors don't know personally among the beneficiaries?
. The poster may not be able to answer all your questions, I suggest u ask d leaders of d church directly. Blessed is he that gives either to d rich or poor.
