God gave you the same 24hrs, 2 hands, legs and eyes he gave the rich men.
They used their data on Job seeking sites while you use your own to insult people on Nairaland. That's what is responsible for your poverty life.
Bro I am not poor, I have done what I am supposed to do in my environment. I know this church and I fellowship there twice last year

I trust old generation and catholic churches

But most of these new ones, I'm not sure

Don't return to any church that you've been giving to for so many years, has your contact and pastor is living a flashy lifestyle but did nothing to help any population of its members (even if not you, the poor at least)

Look for any church that cares for its members in these troubling times and join them

That's actually what true christianity is all about

You sound too angry for me to engage in any intellectual discourse with you. If you only give people that gave you, then whoever you are, you are not following Christ
If you cannot give but you are demanding and expectant, you are a greedy thief!

If everyone refused to give, from which purse shall we take from? Most are not poor but mean and selfish, while others agreed with the Online gurus that it is a waste giving to the Church.
Ask them to give a honest account of the withheld money, they can't!
Give, and it shall be given unto you, pressed and shaken so says the Bible.
Your giving doesn't necessarily to be in millions, widow's mite is even more appreciative.

We are saying the same thing, why are you not as rich as them and meet up to expectations? Do you know some of these people sleep for not more than 2 hours per day? They should empty their purses to buy food? You said they are rich and at the same time sharing the items amongst themselves, how?
If the OP didn't post, a lot wouldn't even had heard of the giving and calling them out because they are not noise makers. Do you the number of recipients?
The gift is close to N20k or even more, which is more than some people's salaries.
So, let's just say Thank you to them and leave criticism out.

What My Church Distributed To Ease Lock Down

My church just sent 10,000 cash coupled with half bag of Rice to ease the lock down during covid-19. First Baptist Church Garki, Abuja has done well.
Though my church has a benevolence department ever since. But because of the covid-19 lockdown my church decided to give out cash to members in need to buy food stuff. I was sent #20k yesterday. Whoever like believe or not.

So how will they give when no offering or tithe is being collected now?
What, no offerings nor tithes have been given every Sunday for the last how many years? There should be plenty in store by now.

I trust Catholic church. Each Parish would have done something similar through its charity arm; St Vincent, but now, how will they conduct such charity when the churches are closed?

At unusual praise event last year, with more than 80,000 people in attendance, we all got fed and took gifts home. The food bank at Falomo is no longer operating. The Church, especially Catholic can do great things this period but it has been held back.
The authodox Church are not money conscious, they are not owned by one man, it's those one man Pastorpreour business center that are always talking money money money, and are still sending USSD code to members to bring money to them even in this difficult time

I do hope it cut across every family in the church?
If yes, kudos to the church for this kind gesture at this difficult time.
It's supposed to be for members who can't afford it, not everyone

It's because of those that are suppose to do and are not doing it, that is why the bashing......if every Church are doing how is was supposed to be, the poverty level will not be high as it is.....
The Church is suppose to assist the government, where government cannot reach
Re: My Church, First Baptist Abuja Shared Rice And 10,000 Cash To Ease Lockdown by Lush100(m): 7:46pm On Apr 05, 2020
sir, I don't agree that the church should assist the government, rather they should assist their members and identifiable places in need of help like motherless baby home, prison, widows.

it is the sole duty of government to make the country liveable for it's citizens and residents which is why you see countries like the US, Europe and others doing what they did.
whereas Nigeria leaders are worst examples of how not to govern a country.
they don't care about the electorate in which caring for the electorate is supposed to be their number 1 duty and responsibility.
it is not the duty of the church.

Yes government is responsible for the welfare of the society unfortunately the revised is the case in the black man's country,
On the other hand the Church is suppose to take care of the needy among them, teach morals to the member, etc but it's not so in majority of the Churches today, even the ones that are claiming they do is not..,...

If the churches are doing the right thing by assisting their needy members, that's also assisting the government, that will compel the politicians to behave, that's how the church is assisting the government

Unfortunately, today most of the churches are working hand in hand with the government/politicians at the detriment of the society

It's another way of evangelizing (Reaching out to people by giving in this trial period)

Everything is not about preaching from the Bible ... Less put what we preach in to action bikoo...

Kudos to the Church's doing it already...

Guy I don't do sentiments

Central bank controls/regulates all financial matters in the country and it's a federal government institute, I don't know the area you are talking from.....

What ever contribution that is made for the starving masses with still be distributed by somebody, either your state representative or local head.....but do you know what? anybody that is in charge of the sharing will first remove his share before giving out the remaining......that is why some people are complaining that what they got is not whort it.
And even you here complaining will likewise do the same because it is in our blood

This country will be better when we do the right thing, not just the leaders but everyone

My point was, He could have gone straight to the people in need vie the various NGOs or LGAs, now it's with the central bank, it will be shrouded in red tape and take ages to get to the target people oh and ofcos that is if it ever does!

Ok
But we have enough in this country such that there would've been few cases of poverty if at all it could have been....
But we are too wicked/greedy in this part of the world
