Back to the question, if you are buying car go for Automatic but if you want to buy truck, bros manual would be good for you.

it might his first car, so not surprised he is being so inquisitive. Atleast few people don advice em on what to buy.

Low cost maintaince go for manual
Good mpg go for manual
Want to be a better driver go for manual
Stress free, go for automatic.
But i prefer manual to automatic anyday, anytime.

Drove manual car like 20years back. Don't think anything will make me drive it in a city with traffic. The only advantage I see with manual is better economy and ease of maintenance. The manual gear box almost doesn't die, but I prefer reducing my suffering and minimizing distractions during gear change.

There must be a good reason for that. You can try driving manual in like serious 3hour traffic then do same with automatic and explain the difference yourself.

Inexperienced, bad clutches or gear...

With perfect clutch and good gear selection, you will feel you are driving an automatic when in traffic.

If you want easy and stress free driving buy automatic. If you want to pretend to be a race track driver buy manual. Its not even like your manual will even be faster sef.
