Wike is a religion and ethnic bigot. He can never be anything in a united Nigeria. I can belt anything that if that helicopter services Company wasn't own by a Yoruba man, he would not have attempt to bring it down.

Wike is a known Muslim and Yoruba hater. He had attacked Yoruba leaders in the past and also declare Rivers a Christian state.
he's a clown with penchant for unnecessary trouble!!!

I AM DONE TALKING

The OP is very right. The governor's action was harsh and he should have been more diplomatic. Most businesses in Lagos today used to operate fully in in port Harcourt but decided to relocated due to the security issues in the Niger delta. I hope they learn a lesson and be more friendly and diplomatic when dealing with businesses.
Seconded.. The governor should have handled this matter diplomatically. Look at the recent case between the LASG and a past governorship aspirant Gbadamosi though guilty how the case was diplomatically settled out of court.

Diplomacy is key..

I have been shaking my head with many of the comments since. They do not seem to see the big picture of potential investors seeing all these and the ripple effect, all they see is Wike vs Caveton Helicopters.
This was how Warri was cheering such practices then until many companies left their shores.
You took the words out of my mouth.

Warri had the same attitude but see it today.

Wike is still paining over the N10 billion that he actually doesn't deserve that went to Lagos state, but his anger is misplaced and his over-bloated ego is getting the best of him.

This company's office is on the Nigerian airforce base, a federal government property, he has no rights or authority to take such action beyond his jurisdiction.

Luckily for all involved, the airforce people did not fall for his provocation or pull out their weapons to defend their base, but he better be careful because this won't end well for him.

This is what you get when you elect crude, unrefined and crass people, especially in a state with the highest unemployment rate in Nigeria, now apart from losing more jobs, denying the company's workers their daily bread and IGR for his state, other businesses inside and outside the state are watching and rethinking.

I think he is very wrong to have gone to the extent of arresting the pilots and the workers. Deal with the company's management if you want to not someone just following orders.
Wike even mentioned essential oil workers in his first lockdown address as exception.
Again the NAF base is a Federal Government facilities.
I hope it doesn't go to a stage where the oil water especially NUPENG will go on strike because of his action and shutdown the economy, how will he pay his state workers without allocation.

What is so difficult in asking for a simple landing permit from Rivers state Government?

They did not need one from the state. This is strictly a federal affair.

Federal air space, federal property, federal authority.

It's your reasoning that is surprising, if Wike feels like arresting anyone, why can't he wait till they leave the FG property(air force base) instead of just going against protocols, he just badged in without authorization from the owner.
Why didn't he sue the company if he knew they've broken the law of the state instead of behaving like a tout, and he is a lawyer for that matter who is supposed to know better.

I wish the FG and the company both sue the state

You don't know Governor Wike.
