Dq last week

Do you know if the interview location can be transferred to the USA since we are already there?

I believe you can you would have to inform NVC I suspect, no interview dates will be scheduled right now

Have you asked this on vj?

I know its such a sad situation! Luckily I saw the signs and was able to move our flight forward to last week. Now praying for health and to be safe against this coronavirus. At the time we took a chance cos cases werent that much in Naija, so it seemed stupid to be flying down to US. Even went ahead to pay for green card sef before living. On the plus side getting into US ( border and custom) was relatively stressfree, infact line was longer for Americans than for others.. which is not typically the case. Hopefully all will die down and everyone would be able to get in before May. But to be proactive I would suggest sending an email to the US embassy, and the consulate in Lagos, asking what would happen if through no fault of your's youre not able to travel before the visa expires due to lock down.
-if I were in your shoes that's what I would do... though I thought the visas are usually issued for 6months? so wondering why you guys waited this long though before making travel plans. Most people travel within a month of getting their visa

Thanks for your message. Trust me if it's me I would have left Nigeria within a month.

We hope all dies down soonest.

Their response to the covid 19 is massive. Daily briefings and round the clock working. Comparable to Nigeria responses,Thank God for the hot weather theory that is in our favour if not our fatalities would have been massive. Still U.S is busy sending planes to every corners of the world whisking their stranded citizens and diplomats back home to safety
author=IrepChrist post=87960519]For the first time in my many years of waiting my passion to leave Nigeria for the US suddenly subsided owing to the Current Pandemic as the American Government struggles to cope ...

By and large we pray that God heals the world and keeps save our family and friends on this thread(over there) whoms immense contribution have been helpful for us all...

God bless you all ...
Stay save we would all sing triumphantly.

Good afternoon all,

We got a letter from nvc stating my case number and invoice number. However my priority date is not yet current, was wondering should I go ahead with filling forms and submit supporting documents? If yes, how do I go about it, what’s the first step?

PS: My Pd is Nov 2014

What does the letter you got say? Typically every letter or email you get from the NVC or consulate usually has clear instructions .It should tell you the next step to follow. All the best.

Pls delete if not allowed .. I couldn’t find a thread to post this...
Does anyone know how one can roam an mtn Naija number from overseas? Typically before one leaves Naija it’s usually adviced that one sets up roaming. But in a case where this wasn’t done how can one figure out this roaming issue from the USA? We put on the Naija mtn phone yesterday and couldn’t find any signal at all here in the US?
Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by zichien: 5:00am On Apr 10, 2020
Any update? Did you collect your passport yet? Or you’re just gonna let it sit at the embassy?
omowaleola:

I understand. I'm also not ready to travel for now. I'm asthmatic so I'm vulnerable also. I just wanted to be sure if the passport is not released due to the coronavirus or if there is an omission on my own side. BTW, Visa expires in 6 months so no rushing. Thanks.

You'd have to call their customer service and tell them the state and city you're travelling to so they can confirm if they have partner telecoms company there. If you have already traveled and can't find service, it probably means they don't have a telecoms partner in the area, city or state that you're in. The way roaming work is: Your service provider partners with another service provider in a foreign country in certain areas of coverage, so when you travel, your phone automatically gets registered on that partner network and you can make calls or use data services. Your service provider eventually bills you way higher than when in your country and they settle with their partners. If you're already there and the sim doesn't work, you can have someone in Nigeria help you call their customer service on your behalf and find out if they have a partner network providers there. But if you need the sim for maybe banking services, best to use online or card services.

Your line is supposed to roam automatically. That's what my Mtn does. Even when in transit, it connects to the partner network in the country.

Hi Duuzsz. Please have you made the payment? Please confirm if the payment process on the Portal allows one to use Naira MasterCard i.e use of Naira MasterCard which redirects one to a payment gateway or it has to be a payment by sponsors in the US using their card and their platform.

Yes the payment was made yesterday by my dad, however, I’ve seen some person use gtbank dollar MasterCard to make the payment here in Nigeria. so if you have any dollar MasterCard, try it out.

Got mine after the lockdown, and they mail it to the sponsor address. When was your case approved?

OK, that's cool. I don't get the approval you are talking about but the applicant contacted NVC via e-mail last month and they just back to him that all applications are pending for now due to COVID 19.
Priorities Date is April, 2014.
So which one is the case approval you ask of?

Well, after filing a case, the uscis approve it then send it to nvc. So since you already contacted nvc, I guess your case is already approved.

Ok. But you don’t have to wait for the pandemic to be over before you start, it’s better you start now, I’ve started mine. It will take some months to
Complete the nvc stage. And don’t forget at nvc, it’s first come first serve.

I will advice you complete the AOS part now, then gradually gather your civil documents.
