A Taiwan senior minister lamented that the information they gave to WHO, they didn't announce it to the world. WHO has lost its function since, it's now a political tool |

Everything happening now would have happened. It just so happens that the crisis is a pandemic For trumps entire term, he has been stripping budgets, sacking technocrats, destroying agencies and making his toadies bosses As a Nigerian, it is a story that plays out when a multinational is sold to Nigerian owners. Sackings, engagement of paddys, disregard for processes, elimination of entire departments So when the crisis comes no one is ready. This is the inevitable trump legacy. Gutting the fire department and then blaming the dispatcher when the building is on fire |

GamalNasser:Just like the Spanish flu that killed over 50 million people was American virus. Trump played his cards wrong this time around and got his fingers burnt. He should be man enough to accept responsibility for the deaths of America citizens. The only person who deserved to be a scapegoat here is him |

Anyway, with regards to the funding, perhaps they should review it and even withdraw their funding. They can invest that money within their system making healthcare available to the poor people and to the homeless on their streets. Even middle class Americans are affected by this virus and can be ruined financially. Socialist healthcare systems can only benefit everybody. Unnecessary healthcare needs like cosmetic plastic surgery shouldn't be covered but they need to review their access to healthcare in the US. While withdrawing their funding of the WHO, they should also consider not putting their noses in other peoples affairs , and the.money used in sponsoring military bases in other nations can also be poured into their healthcare system. Win win for America. The nations who need WHO the most are African nations, so if other wealthy nations don't fund the WHO, our leaders will have to step in and perhaps start spending money appropriately. No more free vaccines for our childhood immunizations etc. Maybe this will give us all a brain too. |

Trump, China and the WHO all have their faults. But I'll blame China the most. The WHO first acted on information given by China. |
| Re: US To Review Funding To WHO Next Week by Nobody: 7:00pm On Apr 11, 2020 |
That will be fantastic. Dr. Tedros is a china puppet. He felped spread the disease by defending Chinese propaganda. US can only help the world to defund this organisation until the China DG is gone. |

yeyeosoronga:Bros, let Americans blame Trump...he is the president of America................................ But the whole world should blame WHO for their failure, they actually sided with China at the detriment of whole world..... Putting China first before the world.......... Trump has every right to remove America tax payer money from WHO since it does not serve the purpose it was meant for. |

Despite opposition from some quarters, Dr Tedros was elected as the first non-physician and the first African DG of the WHO following endorsement by the AU. There are also speculations that China played a key role in Dr. Tedros defeat of his main challenger for the post, the UK Medic (Dr. Nabarro). However, prior to the ongoing COVID-19 fiasco, some of the actions by Dr Tedro have been quite unsettling. First, is the appointment of little-know Russian, Dr. Tereza Kaseava as the WHO Director of Global Tuberculosis Programme. The aforementioned fast-track appointment was made barely a few weeks after the WHO DG's attendance at a medical gathering in Russia https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(18)30005-9/fulltext?elsca1=etoc Shall we talk about his laughable plan to appoint Robert Mugabe as WHO Goodwill Ambassador? Thank God the offer was eventually withdrawn after a public backlash. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/democracy-post/wp/2017/10/25/another-week-another-scandal-at-the-united-nations/ Shall we talk about the recent endorsement of the Traditional Chinese Medicine by WHO? https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-06782-7 https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevensalzberg/2018/10/01/who-endorses-tcm-expect-deaths-to-rise/#6d7e864c6418 Folks, it seems that we have a politically compromised or incompetent WHO leadership at the moment. thattnaijaman: |
