The word revolution has been cheapened in naija. Every small thing people will parrot revolution
If you are in January this year told that by April 2020, there will be a lockdown of this magnitude, would you believe who ever say so?

Abeg commot here. You're too dull and ignorant to educate.

Isnt the intel dept suppose to have preempted such and all teams would have been on stand by, like they do show of force before elections
Even if they did, they still had to let it happen to know where to concentrate on. Remember Nigeria is under policed with other problems involved.

The way some where going about bragging about Amotekun gives the impression that they are all ready set to go.

That's not my main reason for asking the question sarcastically, it's because we always put the cart before the horse.
The biggest crime problem in the SW is not about Fulani Herdsmen but about thugs, gangs. cult and the like but the talk of FUlani Herdsmen is more politically expedient for the politicians hence all the cacophony and hoopla about the Amotekun lunch. Isn't crazy to create a security out fit to go after a crime that come up once in a month or even more but ignore crimes that occur on daily basis.
I swear black man is condemned to doom for the next 100 years.
I said it from scratch that Amotekun idea is as foolish as a toddler asking for permission to drive a car.
Common sense will dictate that you will create a security outfit to tackle all crimes in the SW not just a crime that comes around so infrequently just because you want to satisfy your political base. Pure rubbish.
How do you feel when you show your ignorance glaringly online with brazen foolery.

I’m sure U don’t even know the scope and the limits, modus operandi of Amotekun

I’m sure you are not aware that they are yet operational.

Stop typing faster than what you know.
Seek knowledge first.

More than half of humanity is under some form of lockdown. It's for everyone's own good. In most countries people understand the reason and take it in good faith....except people like you in Nigeria.

So you let robbers rob freely for days, then you eventually send some so called squad and people are hailing you.

Who is to blame, the leaders or the electorate

Those are states with less than 9% poverty rate. Imagine what will happen when hunger hit some Northern states with 80% poverty rate. Maybe this is what will bring the revolution that Sowore was gently asking for a few months ago.

Xisnin:
You don't need to engage in self-hating rants because you don't understand the rational
behind a response.
Let us look at your perfect "whites".

9/11 killed merely 3000 people while gang-related deaths fuelled by drugs
kills about 33,000 per year.

The US created homeland security to tackle terrorists in 2002 in response to
the attacks.

Why didn't the US ruled by white men create an organization to fight "All crimes"
and instead focus on an infrequent once in many decades attack?
Are they so foolish to realize that other crimes kill more people per year?
Was it to satisfy the political base?

There will always be criminals the same way there will always be diseases.
But all crimes are not equal and I am not talking about severity here.

Why do you think there was lockdown for Coronavirus when other diseases
kill more people per year?

The function of the government is to provide stability.
Any deviation from the norm is problematic for the image of the affected community
and could have devastating economic consequences.

The SW governors made an intelligent decision to tackle a new problem of herdsmen
kidnapping people in highways and their farms. I have been traveling the highways for
years and I have never been fearful of being kidnapped until the herdsmen decided to
abandon cows for people.

Asking governors to tackle all crimes is a meaningless request. When new dangers present
themselves, we must respond and not bury our head in sand.

Finally, it is disingenuous to be asking about Amotekun when you know it hasn't been
organized just to taunt the supporters.
Bro you are preaching to the wrong person. You are also comparing apples to Oranges.

Creating an Homeland department was in reaction to terrorism as you rightly pointed out but the difference is that they already have effective law enforcement against gangs, drug dealers and other criminals in the inner city of America. The SW DOES NOT have any meaningful law enforcement against most important criminals in the SW.

Drug crimes kills more than 33000 in the US on yearly basis but each city and county has a drug crime unit. Homeland department is a department of the US Federal Govt to protect the land, sea and air borders.
On a serious note, how many Fulani herdsmen do you think Amotekun will arrest on any single month? May be one or two at the most. But you have thousands of thugs, cults and other criminals terrorizing the SW on daily basis. Total misplaced priority.

I intentionally and sarcastically asked that question knowing full well that all the noise that followed the Amotekun lunch was just comical if not sad.

We as a people are fund of chasing after what's unimportant while the important issues are left by the way side.

You cannot do this lockdown the same way everywhere.
a state where most ppl can work from home and d government can provide for most of the rest (eg uk) isn't the same as Nigeria.
Nigeria largely has a hand to mouth economy and to ignore that is foolish at the least.

The fact is that Africa has been largely spared of the deadlines of this virus. Not because of lockdown measures, if we're being honest. We should take advantage of dt and create lockdown measures dt don't push ppl to the extreme.

There are latin Americans countries doing partial lockdowns for the same reason but sense eludes us in this place

Your first point applies to your last: those latin countries have better healthcare systems than us. If the virus becomes an epidemic in Nigeria it'll be devastating to the little social fabric we're all hanging on to.

Right now almost everyone is saying that Trump should've shut the US down sooner, snd no one out there besides business owners is talking about opening the society early.

22 million Americans are out of work, and the numbers will keep going up. What's $1,200 going to do with mortgages and rents and groceries?

No one knows how long this pandemic will last, and no government can provide social support indefinitely.

The best hope for mankind is for people to stay home until the virus runs its course.

Im sorry but i have to disagree, the police and intel community has a blue print of red flag areas , saying waiting for crime to happen before you take action is just simply incompetence, crime is to be prevented, at most controlled and criminals prosecuted
