They feel what they feel, and nothing can take away their own emotions. Some are elated, sad, scared, grief stricken etc.
Personally, I feel nothing for his death. No sadness, no happiness, nothing .
I also know that we all owe death a debt, and only hope it will be later rather than sooner. Not everyone has this understanding, but that's still fine. Nothing wrong with that.
Dying should never automatically confer on you the status of a saint/martyr, as many religions and cultural beliefs seem to think.
