Good day fellow NL, how is the lock down is your part of Nigeria. Hope you're all getting along.
A brother needs help /advice. I decided to bring this issue here because I there there are well meaning Nigerians out the who who has useful knowledge to contribute to or impact to my plight.

I am a man in my twenties, born and brough up in a Christian family. My parents are godly and as such impacted the right morals in me. after my secondary school, I decided to move to the city to learn a trade, a hand work. I've learned the work and currently currently excelling in the work. Ever since I started living an independent life, I've never been spiritually stable. My spirituality is wavering.
To cut the story short I hardly engage myself in Christian activities, the worse of it is that I don't even pray to God again. I think I'm going astray spiritually, I'm lacking behind. I don't want to blame anyone for backslide. What's your advice

The struggles of life is often responsible for such. It is good however that you noticed this decline and ready to push forward.

I suggest you join a unit in your Church once this lock down is over

Secondly, try and put a goal of how many chapters of the Bible you want to study daily and try and meet the goals.

Lastly, keep friends that can help you. Those that are more spiritually sound than you. Iron sharpens iron.

Stay strong.

1) Who are your FRIENDS: you can not be friendly with men who carry the fire of God and the wisdom of God and not smell smoke. Real FIRE is contagious.

2) Who is your SPIRITUAL FATHER? See, bros, even in the bible every one in the old and new testament had a mentor or father figure that led them in spiritual things, WITHOUT THIS, You are finished. SPIRITUAL FATHERHOOD OR MENTORSHIP is not what Nigerians know, they use it as an occassion for extorting money from those they call sons, it is simply a Person who can help you grow from one stage to the next stage without loosing your inspiration or enthusiasm... Spiritual Mentors or Fathers are NOT friends.

3) LOCKDOWN: What have you been doing in the LOCKDOWN, you have data to come here, that means you can as well go to youtube and watch Joshua Selman or Dr Isaiah Wealth or D.K Olukoya or Kumuyi.... many others and you can go to telegram too if you do not have much data and download LOADS of spiritual books

4) SUNDAYS: there are too many ONLINE CHURCHES that are broadcasting on Sundays, you have no excuse o.

5) BORN AGAIN: Are you really Born again? or you assumed that being born in a christian home means you are SAVED? That would be the greatest deception of the century, NEVER ASSUME what you do not understand. Learn to find out. Also, IF YOU ONLY GAVE YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST BECAUSE YOU WERE TOLD TO DO IT OR YOU JUST HEARD A SCARY MESSAGE, then you are not really born again. To be genuinely born again is based on the GOSPEL(good news) not scary news or bad news.... only GOOD NEWS can correctly get you born again. Only those who LOVE GOD can really walk with him.

THESE ARE NOT THE DAYS TO SERVE GOD BY GUESS WORK

You are not alone.
I don't seem to care about my faith anymore.

As simple as my suggestion may seem, it'll help you if you're really serious about this.

Open your Bible, designate portions to read daily and try to keep at it regardless of your schedule.

If you're not too busy to eat food, then you can't be too busy to read a portion of your Bible daily.

The more often you do it, the quicker you start to see changes in your spiritual life.
Re: Please Help, A Brother Is Going Astray by Nobody:
Ask God to help you remove the distractions or worries occupying your mind and taking His place.

Motivate yourself to get closer to Him: pray at all times, ready your Bible daily, listen to worship music, etc.

You seem to be realising that faith is not necessary.

If you want to get your faith back, you need to join a Bible study group. It doesn't have to be from your church, just a serious non church study group that meets periodically.

If you want to discover more about the non Christian way, watch The Atheist Experience on YouTube.

@ kiddo01

I think you you should mind what occupies your time always, perhaps phone, job hunting, relationship etc all these defile a man when not properly guided.
Be careful of what you consume online many of them are not edifying to our spiritual lives e.g romance in nairaland, pornograph etc
In the church where you worship get closer to brethren that will help build you up in faith. Never mingle often with church goers- they abound.
Secretly build your prayer life, study and meditate on the word. Have a place of serious prayer and studying the word, morning, afternoon and night.
Be blessed
JESUS is ALIVE

You are the only person that can help yourself out

Go to alters in a church of your choice and call you God

Is because you are sure of the next meal that's why

If you are not sure if the next meal, you will serve God
