Nigerians don't travel alot .. stop saying what you don't know. Only about 25% of Nigerians have ever travelled outside the country. What you'll say is that Nigerians travel mainly to go and make a living and not for tourism. That's why you can find them in awkward and unexpected places like Chile, Fiji, Norway , Madagascar etc.

Nigerians would travel a lot (for tourism) if they have the means. We are curious people.

Money can never be disregarded as a factor, but there are plenty of white people of just average (and below) wealth who still manage to travel a lot.

I think overall they tend to be more 'adventurous'...or actually, brought up in a network that encourages them to tap into their adventurous side more because I can't say anyone is 'inherently' more or less adventurous.

Also, traveling whilst white vs non-white is probably a more privileged experience when it comes to how other countries/cultures welcome you

I'm sure Nigerians would travel more too if the average person had the funds and was used to seeing people around them travelling

na the poverty mentality u cant blame them .many of the white tourists wey dey come here they dont look rich.many of them are just average looking citizens.but in naija u have to be very wealthy for u to have the means to travel for sightseeing.i just wish a time go come for naija when eating chicken and using plane to travel wouldnt be looked on as a thing of the rich.Its very embarrasing when a nigerian person enter plane and the first thing wey im go do na to do selfie and upload for facebook with the caption saying; "yes baba God i am inside airroplane at last..thank u jesus!"

many of the white tourists i see here look average.some are just high school teachers while some are civil servants.there was one i made friends with some time ago.the girl is from germany and she came with her brother.i asked her where she was working and she told me she teaches in kindergaten.i was surprised...can u imagine..a kindergaten school teacher being able to afford a pleasure trip .how many nigerian university lecturers can afford traveling overseas for tourism.

Nigerians with legal papers abroad too also travel. My brother in uk was in Morocco and Singapore before corona ish. My friend in canada was in chile too this year. Over here in Nigeria even those of us earning ok salaries too much problems. Imagine using your leave allowance to pay rent instead of flexing

Lol yeah I'm not surprised, travelling is not just for the rich white people, plenty average people do it as well.

They may not be earning a lot, but the average income in their countries is not as woeful as somewhere like Nigeria for example and is usually enough to provide them with a fairly decent livelihood. And if they aren't working, there are benefit systems in place for the unemployed. If the average earner saves and plans enough, they can travel.

I think attitudes towards travelling differs across different countries and cultures too, I was surprised to hear having in a passport in a country like the US us not as commonplace as it is in the UK for example (anyone can correct me about this if I'm wrong)

there is this my friend he is in the czech republic now doing his phd.this guy can travel for africa .most times he will just take leave and the next thing he is travelling to ghana or the ivory coast or togo just to do sightseeing.when this guy talks to u u will know he is exposed.travelling really does a lot to a person"s wellbeing.when u just remain inside ur village and locality it tells on u .

The strength of the passport helps and for a country to have a strong passport, she must have attained some sort of wealth thereby making her citizens rich/middle class. Yet again, using the Maslow Hierarchy of Need, survival comes first and statistically, most black dominated countries are poor thereby making black people to be the poorest globally of all races. Using that Maslow's rank, you don't expect a poor person to indulge in things like travelling and sightseeing. Na when person don chop belly full, the person go begin dey think of traveling. And for these persons to travel freely without checks here and there, they need a strong passport. But how can the passport be strong when they are poor? Look at the Chinese, when they were poor, they travelled less but now that they are rich, they dominate the tourism market globally that countries dependent on tourism were fearful of the lockdown in China when coronavirus started spreading like wildfire. Same concerns in the higher education industry as most foreign students these days are Chinese (it takes rich people to effortlessly pay tuition fees of >$£30, 000). Another example was when Saudi Arabia revamped her visa rules, she listed China who has tortured more Muslims yet did not include a SINGLE African country including Nigeria which has the highest population of Muslims in Sub-Saharan Africa. In summary, for there to be more black people not necessarily less white people (the advent of Chinese travellers hasn't stopped whites from travelling) travelling, black people have to be rich. When that happens, our passports would be strong, we would achieve the highest point of Maslow's rank and then travel.
