Dear all,

According to psychologist, there are three types of intelligence. Viz:

*Intelligence Quotient (IQ)*
*Emotional Quotient (EQ)*
*Social Quotient (SQ)*

1. *Intelligence Quotient (IQ)*: this is the measure of your comprehension ability", solve maths; memorize things and recall subject matters.

*2. Emotional Quotient (EQ)*: this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others; keep to time; be responsible; be honest; respect boundaries; be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. *Social Quotient (SQ):* this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go farther in life than those with high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize in improving IQ level while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your character; your SQ represents your charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs but more especially your EQ and SQ.

EQ and SQ make one manage better than the other.

Pls don't teach children only to be IQ but also to be EQ and SQ.


Now there is a 4th one :

A new paradigm
4. *The Adversity Quotient (AQ)*: the measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life and come out without losing your mind. AQ determines who will give up in face of troubles, who will abandon their family or who will consider suicide.

To parents.

Expose children to other areas of life than academic. They should adore manual work (never use work as a form of punishment), sport and art. Develop their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of the parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for the children.

Prepare the children for the road.

Stay SAFE.

Observe Social Distancing.

Reminds me of a movie "margin call", The top bosses in an investment firm didn't know shit about the bogus statistics/analytical aspect of the business, they only had to employ brains and smart people to work under them while they called the shots.

Nice one op. If I might ask, can an individual have 100% of the major three quotients? I think it also interwoven with temperament and from observation, most with IQ & EQ usually have average SQ. And most people with higher SQ usually lack more of EQ than IQ. My conclusion is that you can't have it all 100%

First of, I wonder how and where you got this definition of IQ.

*Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a score (mental age) derived from a set of standardized tests designed to assess human intelligence.
Through intelligence, humans possess the cognitive abilities to learn, form concepts, understand, apply logic, and reason, including the capacities to recognize patterns, plan, innovate, solve problems, make decisions, retain information, and use language to communicate.
Note; having a high IQ is not the result of going to school or scoring good grades in your 'academics'. Most people are born with high IQ; it can only be improved minimally over time. Einstein also failed his school exams, despite his intelligence. Intelligence is the possession of cognitive and deduction abilities, not MEMORIZING abilities. That's just part of the default functions of the brain.

*Wiki Quote from the journal, Assessing the Human Mind (92-B40);
"There are some speculations that people with high EI have greater mental health, job performance, and leadership skills although no causal relationships whatsoever have been shown and such findings are likely to be attributable to general intelligence and specific personality traits rather than emotional intelligence as a construct."

*For the SQ, there is no such thing anywhere. Where did you read on the existence of a unit of measuring someone's socializing life
If you look at the idea of maintaining friends and relationships, then that's hogwash. It is not intelligence in any way!! Infact, having little to no friends is a major sign of possible high IQ. Most people with high IQ tend to be introverts, and it is also a common fact that as IQ increases, EQ (empathy) decreases.

Speaking humanely, yes, you do have to socialize and have empathy for others.... but saying you can't go far without them is untrue.


Note; I am not against what you posted, but I want to air my opinion on these statements:

With the above definition, EQ seems more difficult to achieve or have than IQ.

IQ is naturally given, eq and sq are known as practical intelligence, which is learned from parents and the structural habitat that the individual was raised in.. Middle class and rich parents teach their kids those skills needed to navigate the emotional and social complexities needed to develope a methodical approach to the authority and relationship approach to living.. In my candid opinion I think we can’t carry all our friends along which is natural.

This means that there are level of lives where those friends no longer count. This is not a way of trying to feel big but it’s inevitable.

There are levels of life that are strongly influenced by the caliber of friends we keep.

Life is a stage and it’s in phases.

You might be in level 1 today and mingle with friends of level 1 all of a sudden, fate pushes you to level7. The people there are the ones you’d always see, talk with and mingle with in order to get into the next phase of life. Imagine you were once a truck pusher in a market having same people as friends and then one day you were just called upon and given a political appointment in your local government. You’ll find yourself mingling with politicians and no longer truck pushers. And at such you occupy your time and thoughts on your new level for your own growth and thus forgetting the level you were once in sometime ago. Sometimes you begin to wonder why you suddenly forgot your old friends. It’s not a deliberate attempt though but you just have to move on. If eventually you cross their path, try to help them at any opportunity you’ve got. So I don’t really agree with your SQ. It doesn’t work that way.
