Exactly same feelings. That car has been over hyped, over priced, over emphasis.

Our car dealers can can research for us best vehicle for these kind of business. Toyota corolla is not it anymore.

Whichever way you even look at it, you arrive at the same answer. If the corolla can make 1.7m In a year, then the civic will make the same 1.7m in a year( all things being equal).

By the time you do the arithmetic, both would have given you roughly the same ROI.

Sadly, all things can NEVER be equal

It happen almost frequently, I repair and sell cars so I know.

There is a particular Corolla they call o por ju owo e lo by car dealers. The first of that Corolla I sold, goes for 450,000 now you can't buy it less than 1mil again. All because of the fuel efficiency. And cheap spare parts. Is the same market value Volvo has? What about Opel products. So madam market shifts

Funny enough most car dealers won't give reviews on Automobile, an Auto Technician are in the best position to give you the reviews.

So when I give my review, it is based on my experience and knowledge of the cars I have worked on or put up for sale.

From reviews alone I got to know that Volvo S40 rarely gives wahala. And the one I have worked on mostly I only change the part of the suspension sysyem and Servicing. No big issue.
As for the other Corolla that I have attached the picture omo you go over enjoy that car except they are year 2000 cars

You know the white drug problem is worse than the black one right...

It's just that since the elite white do cocaine, meth (poor white people), opioids and pills, they don't bring down the hammer like crack since crack is typically a black man's drug. Now that opioids have decimated the elite and/or white community, all of a sudden they advocate intervention programs to help and see it as a humanitarian issue. Where was that empathy with crack?? Why was crack a criminal issue and not a humanitarian one? When it was the "black drug" they had the war on drugs. Now it's opioids, meth and cocaine, it is intervention programs. All ambulances even carry shots to stop a meth overdose. There are free clinics that provide clean needless to addicts SMH. They even go out in

Don't believe me, go look up sentencing for same crime broken down by race. Someone doesn't have to call you a nigger to your face before you know he thinks you're one.

As far as African Americans hating Africans, with comments like the ones in the last couple of pages do you wonder why?

Why do movies here depict African Americans as gang bangers and drug dealers and movies there depict Africans as half naked bush people? Because if we ever stopped fighting long enough to be united it would be a problem for the world.

300 million Nigerians IN Nigeria. Hundreds of millions more in diaspora. Only 750 million Americans and a good chunk of them are black. The best way to keep us under control is to keep making us think we are better than each other. They did it before with house niggers and field niggers. WE. ARE. ALL. BLACK. Whether in Africa, Caribbean or America. and the sooner we start to realise it and stop with tribalism and xenophobia they sooner the world will respect us.

You realize we outnumber every black race but we do nothing with that power.

My family didn't think much of Jamaicans either... Till they meet my husband and his family. Guess what? Their culture is so similar to us it blows my mind daily. We grew up experiencing the same things. My family loves his now and my dad who said he will never go back to Jamaica again wants us all to go.

Bottom line, before people go running their mouths about any race, learn their history, live with them and experience them firsthand. THEN you can be an authority on them.

I think this is the longest post I have ever written!! With that, my thumb is out of ink on this topic.

I noticed most people calling AA lazy and entitled are relying on google and surface materials to come to that conclusion. They really don’t understand how white folks operate.
They hate you for real and it’s deep inside their DNA, and they have succeeded in manipulating your brains and created the narratives for you all.
Now it’s time for black people (men and women) to swallow the red pill on race politics and tear deep into the mind and soul of what the white man is trying to achieve.
Develop Africa and let our brothers and sisters abroad apply for heritage re-settlement permits. The white man chooses who to punish within your race, when to and how to, it doesn’t matter who the f&ck you say you are.

I understand now. These interstate drivers using sienna do they own their cars? I think many of them work for transport companies and prices is according to season, there is also wear and tear, fuel to buy, as you wrote earlier, having a fleet is profitable in the transport business. (Economic of scales)

I think most drivers will make more money if they are their own boss and price is not regulated and even if price is regulated, having like 2-3 cars will be a good advantage.

Anyway uber and taxify low price magic is through economic of scale, maybe drivers in the business should also learn that, even if you are using toyota corolla, saving up money to buy another car for the business is a good strategy of making money in the ehailing business.

Please do not take the advice of having two or three cars as the best way of making money. Having two or three cars in the unpredictable and dicey world of e-hailing in Nigeria is nothing but death-dealing. Kindly disregard it, it's a very naive advice.

Someone that has one car that he is managing and driving himself is going to be making more money than the guy with three cars, that sits on his ass and waits for 300k a month. That's a fact.

If you have more money to invest while you are on your one car hustle, please diversify into other businesses. Having two or three cars in this business does not guarantee more income, looking at all variables and heartaches. Take my word for it.

That very correct I have done this ehailing for a year now and I can say. That is okay if you are driving yourself.

If I wanted to invest 3 or 4 cars in this business I will have done that long ago. Haven said that am wotking towards going into haulaging next year. I just hope this pandemic shit is over as soon as possible.

I will I will be starting with one truck that can covey 20ft CONTAINER. AND strickly within lagos. This is what one of my inlaw is doing for 4 years now and his cashing out big time.

So I will like us to also look into this line of investment. Because breaking even with ehailing do not seem possible.

With the contemporary e hailing business model in Nigeria. You are partially right. However I feel many of us are doing it the wrong way.

There are also car rental companies abroad that people use for e hailing and it works but here the reverse seems to be the case.

Every business has got it's peculiarities, same haulage that your inlaw is doing well at is same others have lost out, same ehailing many are complaining about is same others are doing well at with multiple cars.

Transportation business in naija is still one of the best passive income earner out there, even people managing okada or Keke still makes money.

You are better off in e hailing fleet business if you have other sources of income like a business or even paid employment. It shouldn't be your only source of income even with say 3 cars. The key thing is the cash flow it avails you and trust me ,there ain't too many businesses out there that guarantee that

The cash flow aspect is the more reason I don't think of leaving transport business. But I don't just like the ehailing is structure.

Note. There is good money in ehailing but I don't just feel like investing huge money in it. I prefer monitoring one truck than to monitor 4cars and driver wahala. And you make more money in haulage than ehailing. That my opinion though

Yes it does.. and shows that Corolla will NEVER remain the best for the job...every car can deliver same end game results all things equal (moral of the story

Strongly disagree, some cars I will never use for the job ,never means never.. I had so much success with civic than any other cars. It is just unbelievable parts were cheap and suspension are very strong .....I gave out a tokunbo civic to one of my drivers .... 8 months and counting no issue.. The cars gets good fuel mileage, the driver raves about the car ... And he was a Toyota fan boy ......

Have done haulage business years ago early 2000. I was into Mack trucks ,tipper to be exact .. Tough business very tough ... you cant even the maintain small cars , so haulage trucks you want manage.... God bless your soul ...... You think uber drivers are bad , truck drivers will show things that even the devil will be surprise. God have mercy...

The sh*t I read and hear on this forum.. I think I will soon retire from posting on nairaland and mind my business... I am not getting paid for this...

PS .. You want to start " BIG" you don't know what your in-laws has gone through to be doing fine in the business.. There pass experience in other stressful business has made them to be successful in haulage business.. You can't even manage three or two cars for uber lol
