Dakar, and follow the developments here via their biggest blog, I ve never come across any article about the 1 dollar test kit, I think its fake News. I also want to state the the alleged manufacturers 'Pasteur institute' is owned and funded by France.
That does not take away the fact that Dakar is better than any Nigerian city, power has not gone off since the start of this year, weather, road network, waste management. Naija can do better.

Haven't you seen several talented nigerians in different sphere of life? How many support have they received from your government.

The foreign countries you mention, do you know the level of support they receive from their government?
Pls stop supporting rubbish my broda

Stories, now is the time to prove their mettle. We're good at following laid down procedures and copying. We lack the capacity to innovate. Let's prove ourselves wrong NOW

Those who should be doing this in Nigeria are either part of the government looting the country dry or part of the masses being looted dry.

Or have traveled to the "in the abroad" : lol

Or have abandoned their dreams due to lack of funding or resources or other reasons caused by being in Nigeria

Or have joined cult and many other societal vices that has killed their dreams

Crap.

Truth is, Nigeria invents all sorts of stuff, Igbo have been inventing little things here and there and replicating other stuff just like the Chinese did but Nigerians probably like you, dismissed them as Igbo-Made. When the Nigeria Army displayed their prototype Ventilator on this very Niraland, what was the reaction? I’ll tell you, posters, supposedly Nigerians (I have my doubts), lambasted it. Page after page after pages was filled with mocking posts. Again Nigerians have repeatedly claimed that they have produced drugs or found a cure for one ailment or another but the reactions have been dismissive and mocking. No one or organisations ever go to investigate the claims of such people.

Here’s another Truth, Senegal like Chad are a French client state. France has always been upset by Nigerians ability to invent, pioneer, think for themselves and do business. France believes Nigeria is dominant in Africa because of these characteristics. Therefore, France will use her influence to push anything supposedly advanced by these typically brainwashed blacks of French colonies in a way that Nigerians have no world powers advocating for them. France is probably trying another tactics to replace Nigeria’s dominance. It is probably for these reasons that recently Niraland has been flooded with hysteria over French Chad bokoharam killing and now this.

True Nigerians must monitor Social Media more, keep on top of trends, investigate the Troll Houses; there are likely many more of them out there in Africa. Africa is no friend of Nigeria, Africans can be shamfull.

Your first paragraph was quite enlightening but the second and third.................... I beg to differ. No one is stopping anyone from inventing or accepting anything, the problem as your have rightly stated in your is me and you. We reject our own and praise was brought from abroad.

We always bad mouth made in Nigeria products. If we develop this we will not use. If a student or a fresh graduate develop it we will only praise such a person in social media and it's production and automation will not be encouraged. If an influential and powerful person develop it, then it would be encouraged and recommended

Now..Thats a great one from Africa! Hope it can be mass produced immediately for all African countries to buy.

Please give honor to whom it is due

That's a great one from Senegal, if you say Africa that means Nigeria is involved and we all know naija is not involved in anything productive, we only specialize in looting and importing

Even crude oil we have here is being sold and re-imported at extravagant prices for our consumption

I have started a new prayer point

"God should liberate Nigerian from bad leaders"
IsNor as if it's too much work for God but I know it's an impossible future tense.

The thing Dey shock am, He is patiently waiting to see more of our ineptitude

EDITED: some of you quoting me to say we don’t need God, should tell us how can a country so blessed with so much mineral resources and Human Resources remain in dark age?

We all claim to be smart and bold on the internet but cum next election they’ll still play us all. Who is fooling who? grin

We are fooling ourself if we think we will wake up one morning to meet Nigerian become Yankee. Tinubu’s yet unborn great great great grand son will rule Lagos one day make em carry e share for the family business. It will continue that way till motor finally park up. grin

You that is reading this post, forget your humility right now, when you make it to that government house, story go change;

“Who is your bro?” grin
“Abeg give them three three cup of derica make them dey go house”

We need God in our heart, our ways nor pure. We are openly abusing the freewill God gave us.

Your prayer is not practicable. You ought to pray that "God should help Nigerians liberate Nigeria from bad leaders and politicians".

God won't come down to do anything for the people but God can help by renewing their tribalistic spirits to one that allow people face national problems solely as one people. It is that simple.

Now, we will have to import from all these African countries, and they will start complaining Naira is falling, why won't *Naira* fall
Na to close border only to protect *naira* abi, not thinking of local manufacturing and production.

Nigeria is a failed country

Thank you person. I've been reading through and all I see na gullible Nigerians hailing something that has not been finished. Aljazeera rushed to break a news still in it's infancy.
The test kit is still being developed, not finished yet. It is a UK sponsored project in a France institute's Senegal branch using indigenous scientists; so much for African ingenuity.
The ventilator too is still undergoing testing for efficiency, nothing is sure yet.
Aljazeera used sensational English. But I pray and hope the test kit and 3D-printed ventilator works, amen

I'm professionally trained to be skeptical about news like this. And I'll ask the right questions before celebrating.

- What is the name of the kit and has it passed through clinical trials to ascertained it diagnostic value, sensitivity and speficity.

- Are the result for the clinical trials published online for scientists like us to peruse?

You're only the second person on this thread asking the right questions. Your education na really higher education.
This is not saying Senegal can't do it, but has it been verified?
