President Donald Trump said he intends to bill China for a 'substantial' amount for damages caused by the coronavirus. During a press conference at the White House on Monday, Trump made the threat to China after being asked whether he was considering seeking money from Beijing for its response to the pandemic. ADVERTISEMENT The idea of seeking reparations from China came after a German newspaper published a mocked-up bill of a $160billion invoice for the impact shutdowns have had on the economy following the spread from Wuhan to Europe. The president claimed he had a 'much easier' idea and claimed he was planning on obtaining much more than what the Germans were suggesting. China's role in trying to cover up the extent of the virus when it first came to light has been used to blame the Communist country for the spread of the disease around the world and preventing other countries from being prepared. President Trump has been one of the most vocal world leaders in attacking the authoritarian regime and has sort to shift culpability from his own administration's response to Beijing. 'We have ways of doing things a lot easier than that,' Trump told a coronavirus press briefing Monday in Washington DC. |

mgbadadike:Europe, for one, would not go along with sanctions against China, and to be honest, neither would America impose them to the extent that this might demand. US can't grow Apples and we all know they can't live without them. |

budaatum:You think so? Germany the heart of Europe has similar sentiment as Trump regarding Coronavirus. Concerning growing Apples and doing without them, mind you that many top World countries have been preparing a day without China in terms production and manufacturing. Just recently, Samsung announced the end of mobile phones production in China. Not only Samsung but about 50 multinational companies from Apple, Nintendo, HP to Dell are all moving their production out of China. Recently, Japan said they're willing to pay Japanese companies to move out of China. Only African nations are willing to leak China's a$$ other top world countries doesn't have that time. At the end what will hit China will be disastrous. |

mgbadadike:The fact that China can erect a factory overnight and staff it with 1000s is what attracted companies to China, and I doubt many other countries can compete on that. Another attraction is the market. China is a vast market for foreign goods and they smartly insist on local production instead of importing finished products into the country. Basically, if you wanna sell in China you must make in China, which is why european car manufacturers and many others have factorys there. As for Africa and China's ass. I don't agree at all. I recall a Briton once warning me we have to be careful of China. I told him Britain were in Africa trading with us but hardly building infrastructure which China is doing. And besides, we have evolved since then so will sign better deals with China than we signed with the West. When the Brits left they left no assets behind, but when China get kicked out they can't take their infrastructure with them. Personally, I think long-term planning China will do very well, but time I guess will tell. |
