The board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the sum of $3.4 billion to support Nigeria’s COVID-19 fight.

The grant to Nigeria is the highest so far to any member country.

The grant called Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI) is granted to member countries that are not under any IMF programme.

HMmn The circle continues.
The present government borrows and leaves debt for next government. And when the next government comes to power they begin to blame the previous government.
we can't go forward by continuing this way. We have other options available. After all they are many ways to kill a rat without shedding blood.

What are we going to use it to do for the NORTH? Gandollar has created a gully large enough to swallow the whole money.

Meanwhile our oil in Niger delta will be used to pay back.

Everything is for the North
The Germans 5.5 million pounds already earmarked for the North East alone
This particular fund is going directly northwards too....

While they share expired rice and beans down south.... What I dont understand is fellow southerners that support this devilish and tribalistic government.. Especially from the south west...

Look at appointments made by this administration.. All the sensitive positions went to the north... Never happened before

Army police dss immigration customs NSA NNpc DPR you name it....

I have never heard of Aisha Buhari foundation until corona virus got to Kano state...

Please what are the other ways, didn't GEJ leave behind over $30B in debts for PMB outside outstanding liabilities like Paris refund, pensions, Mambila power debt, Subsidy, etc? So what are the other options we will like to know

They need to publish the details of the loan and stop the guessing game. Its been in the news these past weeks that Nigerian government are shopping for loan from IMF, world bank and other funding institutions. It will be naive to just believe that we're getting this grant with no strings attached. What are the strings attached?

As a government, you cannot just keep racking up loans upon loans for upcoming generations with nothingto show for it. Or continue to get Grant's with conditions that continues to bankrupt the entire nation.

BUHARI and MINDLESS BORROWING! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

This coronavirus is another opportunity to pile massive debt that even 10 generations cannot free themselves.

Anyway, let us kwantinue to pile up debt.

One day 100% of Nigeria's budget will be for debt servicing of interest on these loans grin grin grin grin

We are talking about now - there is crisis in every country and the global economy is facing real problems, all you listed can't be done within a month. I remember when PMB closed the border to protect our t rice industry how many children of economic saboteurs kept crying for foreign rice and condemning Nigeria rice, covid 19 significantly disrupted food supply chain. You see the diversification you want seems to be what many children of smugglers will try to undermine.

We thank God those that have eyes can see all the loan taken so far by PMB none was to pay salaries something that NOI habitually did despite having oil prices in the hundreds of dollars. We thank God those that have eyes to see can see the various infrastructural projects such as Lagos - Ibadan rail way amongst others are coming to fruition. We thank God those that are educated enough to read not the Head Line readers can see all Loans taken so far are tied to Infrastructural projects none are given for recurrent expenditure.

For country where many cheat and do not pay tax even ordinary pre paid electricity they will still find a way to by pass and cheat, to have citizens so arrogant and pretentious is always mind boggling, Nigeria's tax to GDP ratio is less than 5% one of the lowest in the world, Nigerians expects to have the best but are unwilling to pay for anything they want is illogical especially when there is a Global crisis the entire world will be facing. The same insane individuals who come online to defend crooks are sadly the insane individuals who expects governance to survive with the mind boggling criminality we face.imagine in a country of 36 states Lagos alone collects 56% of our VAT, I ask again how do you expect such country to survive? Make we continue to fool ourselves and think we are fooling others.
