According to Worldometre, the total number of Covid-19 confirmed cases in Africa is 35,678 with 11,868 and 1527 as recovered and deaths respectively.
The percentage of recovery in Africa stand at 88.6%

10 Africa countries with 1000+ cases and their recovery percentage.

1. Djibouti -- 99.6%
2. Ivory Coast -- 97%
3. Guinea -- 97%
4. South Africa -- 95.7%
5. Cameron -- 94%
6. Ghana -- 92%
7. Nigeria -- 85%
8. Morocco -- 82.5%
9. Algeria -- 79%
10. Egypt -- 78%

From this statistics, North African Countries are recording high death rate.

Is Nigeria really doing better?

I'm confused. @bolded - How is 11,000 89% of 35,000? It's more like 40%.

Even at country level your percentages seem way exaggerated. Or is it just me who's got this wrong?

Let me explain.

Percentage is gotten based on number of settled cases i.e No of Death + No of Recovered = Settled cases.

Example: Nigeria

Total cases = 1532
Death = 44
Recovered = 255

Cases with outcome is 255 + 44 = 299

Percentage calculation:
Recovered (255/299 x 100) = 85.4%
Death (44/299 x 100) = 14.6%

Percentage is calculated based on cases with Outcome.

Example : Africa
Total cases : 35,678
Recovered: 11,868
Deaths: 1527

Cases with outcome = Total recovered + Deaths
Cases with outcome is 11,868 + 1527 = 13,395

Recovery percentage is 11868/13395 x 100 = 88.6%
Deaths percentage is 1527/13395 x 100 = 11.4%
