It seems people did not get it when oil dropped to minus $37.

An analogy would be, a petrol station gives you what it cost to fill up your car so you walk off with a full tank plus whatever it cost. Basically, you sold them the storage space in your tank.

That would depend on whom "you" are.

You'd be in the money if you have space to sell, but if like Nigeria you have oil to sell, you'd be paying the buyer instead, which makes me wonder at the downside up world we now found ourselves in.

The devil in me wishes it would go on for a long while so we may decide to utilise our crude oil ourselves instead of sending it abroad to be refined then bought back at a premium, but I think someone is praying too hard for me.
