I received the beating of my life when my mum read my diary and saw that I had a crush on a boy in my class, that was Jss3 or so.

stupidity:
I nor see person wey receive beating reach me o. It was always from 4am. She’ll wake us up and threat your fvck up. always two to three round of beating till 6am. You can’t run outside because you are scared of the dark. It was torture.

At last, i gathered mind dey hold Ma’ hand and prevent her from beating me. Ma’ burst cry one day say I wan beat her.

Me sef burst cry say I nor go try that kind thing.

...I don’t think I’d like to remember again..I sat for WAEC in the early 2000’s.i went to check my result and it happened that I had credit in all subjects except mathematics .. it was not funny!!

My dad made sure he made life miserable for me that very day.he wouldn’t stop talking about the amount my high school charged for WAEC/NECO.he showed me pepper with insults ..

Unfortunately for me,I used to be an ardent listener of radio programmes,so I had a diary I jot down names of American R n B celebrities and their birthdays..my dad made sure he frustrated me with that diary until I threw it away..he’d say, instead of you to read your books and pass WAEC,the only thing on your head is Usher and R Kelly’s birthday.as if they even know you exist..

His insults were enough punishments for me because if I laughed even when in the midst of my siblings,he’d say see her,if only you had studied hard like this your laughter ,you wouldn’t have failed mathematics....I’d burst into another round of fresh tears..I had to use all his insults as motivation to pass the exam the following year I sat for it..
He later told me if he was not harsh on me I wouldn’t be serious..

And that day was her first time of tying the new wrapper that my dad bought for her

And I am beginning to have headache from that pain even as I'm writing now
