Happy Sunday Nairalanders. Let's keep the spirit alive by putting smiles on our faces as we share the direct literal translation of our indigenous family names to English language.
You may also include the name if you want.
I'll start by sharing mine as:
'The eyes of a baby tiger' ......lol

It's all for fun

My surname means "the one who reigns". It was originally my grandfather's middle name but things got mixed up with administrative paperwork and it became my father's last name and our last name.

the correct spelling and pronounciation is 'OFIAELI' nt 'OFILI'. The former(ofili) has no meaning in igbo and its more peculiar wt igbos frm delta state bt d later has a meaning bt its just a shorter word for smtin. '.Ofia'meaning forest and 'eli' cannot be subdue.Example IKE as a surname whch could be ikechukwu, ikeagu, ikemefuna etc.
The complete meaning of your surname might be 'ofiaelioji' meaning that (an iroko tree is always noticeable in any forest). Nw u knw d meaning of ur name, Such a great name.
