The Professor Ango Abdullahi-led Northern Elders Forum on Thursday accused states of allegedly playing politics with the coronavirus that is currently ravaging the world.

The NEF noted in particular that the states were playing politics with the numbers of suspects tested for COVID-19 in order to attract more funds from both the Federal Government and foreign donors.

This was contained in a statement signed by Abdullahi and made available to journalists in Kaduna.


The statement read in part, “The forum regrets the appearance of attempts by many state governments to play politics with numbers for what appears to be expectations that more funds from the Federal Government and foreign donors will be allocated to them.

“It is public knowledge that what the entire nation needs are good policies that protect all Nigerians; equipment and facilities for testing and treatment; and resources to support people who will find it hard to stay at home without some palliatives during the lockdown.”

There is a possibility-Gandollar dreamy $15B dollar craving from the FG comes to mind.

So, Katsina who said 6 of all the almanjiris repatriated to Katsina tested positive also using it to make money? what of Bala Mohamed who survived covid-19...has any money been awarded to him? Bauchi recorded another 6 covid-19 cases fro almanjiris repatriated to the state from same kano...which money has the state made? What of the woman whose audio message went viral about her son-in law who died as a result of vovid-19 in kano ( the woman had really exposed the weakness of the FG and Kano Govt). This is another reason these people should never be allowed to lead Nigeria because they think same shallow way. Ignorance and illiteracy would deteriorate the case in the north. Last week, instead of Ganduje, a supposed learned man and the leader of the state to tell his people the realities of the pandemic, he came on air and said the mass burial was not true, he later admitted that strange illness was killing his people and later he attributed it to malaria, high blood pressure, diabetes...etc. Now, covid-19 is everywhere in Kano. I heard the PTF say they sent THREE VENTILATORS AND 2 OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS to Kano , a state of over 10m people. These people are jokers.
