Covid-19 in Nigeria.

Over the weekend, Friday to be precise.

My neighbor's son sustained a head injury while playing with his fellow kids and was rushed to the general hospital in my area here.

The little boy wasn't sick o.
Just a head injury that happened in my presence while we were outside discussing.

On Sunday, I went to check on the boy to see how he was doing, he was already playing with other kids though his head is still bandaged.

I started talking with his mom and she told me what now seems to be the new trend as regards Covid-19 in Nigeria.

She showed me the receipt issued to her by the hospital.
It was marked Covid-19, case 353.

I was surprised to see that.

She said when she saw the receipt, she asked the nurse what was the meaning of that?
That her son isn't a Covid-19 patient.

The nurse told her not to worry, that it means nothing.
That she was only doing what was required of her.
So she shouldn't worry.

According to the woman, she was still worried seeing that on her receipt but the nurse further reassured her and told her that if she doesn't do that, she could be issued a query. Wow!

What this means is that, according the receipt, the boy is case 353 treated and discharged.

Can you imagine that?!

That is possibly the new trend now at government hospitals.

Once you're sick and visits a government hospital, you're a Covid-19 patient.

If she hadn't shown me that receipt, I wouldn't have believed what she told me yesterday.

And you keep wondering why we can't see common pictures of patients in the isolation centers. Common pictures o.

All we see everyday are numbers upon numbers.

You have a good point here by saying no common pictures or videos of patients in Isolation ever shown, but if u watch foreign news u see videos and pictures of patients even the ones discharged at hospitals, but for here, na so so audio talk, Nigeria is truly a SCAM,everything here is SCAM I tell u, it's just another opportunity for some to become millionaires and billionaires

They won't even attend to a suspected case. They will send you away to federal accredited centres
for proper diagnosis.

Don't mind him, everything an African man will doubt until it hit him/her. In Nigeria there is lot of stigmatisation even to HIV patients. I dont encourage displaying coronavirus patients either, they will sit here and bring nonsense theories, why not go to isolation centres to satisfy your disbelief

bros stop lying. that's your handwriting. no doctor or nurse would ever put covid19 there. if you're not careful u could get arrested for this. you're even showing the name of the hospital. this is sheer wickedness. wait till this post circulates and see the problems you have walked into or don't u know that the prescription form there is traceable?

There is something fishy about this, am afraid to say, the OP may run into trouble if proper investigation is conducted. First that is not a receipt but a prescription form. Someone is trying to be funny here. Am already seeing two different handwritings on the prescription form
Covid19 is not only in Nigeria, it is affecting the whole world, including African countries.
I just pity the elderly and those with comorbidities that will die as a result of believing you.

Also, can we see the small card that was given to the boy when he went to the hospital to be sure he was there?

A prescription comes as a single sheet, this picture has an entire booklet, indicating that someone probably got a booklet, filled it and churned this out.
