Pls I need clarification
From someone more informed

I’m in doubt about this result from NCDC

I’m currently based in Kano
And Kano has been on lockeddown for the past two weeks
Honestly to some level there’s compliance

Now my question is
If Kano has been on lockeddown
Who are those people going for the convid-19 test? Where are the getting the samples from ?

Most of the health workers I know are currently at home , who are those running the tests?

And lastly I drove past the teaching hospital where the test center is , haven’t seen any crowd or anybody sitting and waiting to be tested

Assuming the test is only conducted for the rich
How many rich men will voluntarily go to the hospital and queue for it (for this Nigeria)

To me that figure is crazy
Except there’s more I don’t know

The kind of denial and ignorance I see here is the reason why this virus wont be leaving Nigeria anytime soon. I dont understand how people will assume a country as populous with ghettos, shanties, and the danfo drivers, ferries and micras cramming people in will escape a virus like this and record low numbers. The only reason we are seeing high numbers now is because the virus has finally made it into the communities and is currently being easily transmitted and testing capacity has increased. Fact: this virus has successfully being transmitted within communities in naija. It is not going anywhere. At this rate, even pastors and imams are not safe. No one is. Social distancing cannot be over emphasized enough. Those with compromised immunity systems due to underlying conditions or the elderly should please not go out. Make alternative arrangements asap. The rest of us should wear masks , practice social distancing , wash your hands or apply sanitizers, avoid touching face with bare hands, wipe down groceries and bare surfaces before touching and limit going out and fraternizing. Stay safe for your own good. Where I live is close to a hospital and one of the most haunting scenes is seeing bodies loaded into refrigerated trucks due to morgues being overwhelmed. It is in Nigeria and our healthcare system will not save you
Own your own safety and take care of your shit and spread the word not fear. Thank you

Why are you guys this confused in this country? When the figures were low, you all kept saying it’s because Nigeria is not doing enough testing, that the figures are way more than that, infact more than 3000.

Now that testing has increased, you have changed your wailing to, they are inflating the figures, the actual figure is less than 500. What manner of wailing in confusion is this?
Don't mind them. Confused set of people. They were shouting of dying of hunger asking government to relax the lockdown. Now lockdown has been relaxed, they are shouting again that it's very risky. One was even asking how he will go out on Monday.
Low figure: NCDC was not carryout enough testing
High figure : Inflation of numbers
I might not totally like the way of our politicians but come on, most of us are not even better than them

Can't we get the names of those discharged. If you don't want to tell the new cases, no problem.

At least let us be convinced these figures are real.

Can't believe you said. Don't you know that releasing their names will subject to public stimatisation ànd other inhuman treatment.

Kano is behind Lagos because data collection was abandoned for about 5days. Over 700 deaths within that period were attributed to a strange disease. But we all know it's Covid-19

If we start giving people daily data on death by road accident, you won't drive your car anymore.

Calm down.
At least you can choose not to drive as there are other means of transportation. With a highly infectious disease like this, you do not have such an option. Lastly, show us the daily data on deaths through road accidents in Kano or Lagos and let's compare.

Bros the virus is as real as the air we breathe...

The health workers at home are probably those that were asked to self-isolate, or those that were excused from work because they have comorbid medical conditions or those on annual leave..

Bro please don't join those believing those conspiracy theories because Covid-19 is REAL!!

What do you want government to do when some ignoramuses were clamouring for it and protesting against the lockdown?

In two weeks time, we'll be having cases in thousands on a daily basis.

so lockdown will prevent the spread ?
