Death rate high in Nigeria you say? 27000 people have died here in the UK.
Dear it is about the ratio of death to confirmed cases. That of Nigeria is not looking good as of now.

I think NCDC should lower their criteria for testing. I hear you MUST fully meet certain stringent criteria to qualify for testing. This also accounts for why our testing record is embarrassingly low. But often they are in a hurry to take samples of a deceased person to ascertain if cause of death is Covid-19 related. With this method the death rate is going continue to rise, because most of the tests were posthumously executed.

Someone leaves his house to be tested and you think he must meet all the criteria to be tested. That is discouraging and sends a wrong signal to those that may be willing.

Again there is absence, in my opinion, of a federal response to unify the whole effort. Such response must overlap any state's stance on the fight. I find it irksome that NCDC has to rely on State governors to collect samples before going about testing. The case of Kogi State comes to mind. Why?
.
Incompetence and lack of preparedness obviously.
Before the cases started going up everyday, NCDC said they were ready for the outbreak, but the opposite is the case.
Since the Federal Government that is supposed to be championing this cause is being run by incompetent people who rely on Foreign aid, it's even unimaginable how the states are handling it themselves, especially with regards to inadequate funding.

why say so. Senegal reached out to them and they gave them some of the drugs and today they are no more dying.
In medical field, herbal medicine is never recommended, reason WHO won't approve the Madagascar solution....herbal medicines contains lots of drugs in one portion both relevant and irrelevant ones, some of these compounds are in high doses which can be very dangerous, this makes the side effects really high and in some cases, the medicine might end up killing some individuals, if not now, later, especially individuals that are allergic to some certain compounds......some of these compounds cause organ damage after a very long time, leading to chronic aging sicknesses.....reason our fore fathers who depended on herbs had a very low life expectancy.....herbs are heavy chemicals because they are impure.....heavy chemicals are never recommended to be used as medicines.

why not we reach out to Madagascar for the drugs they discovered, is it because it is an African countryhuh
Can you just take some time and think for yourself please, Madagascar has a measly 130 cases and you're telling the world to take a question from there simply because of their supposed recovery rate which does not have anything to do with the herbal crap they're advertising.
It's only and ignorant person that will suggest a country with one of the smallest cases on earth as a case study.
What they have there is child play because they have not been exposed.

So what's stopping the US and other countries from trying the so called miracle drug from Madagascar?
There are too many ignoramus on this platform, they just digest everything they hear on news and pour it out here carelessly without thinking for themselves

Joefat:
How sure are you. If they can't. So who can?
I dare to say that only and ignorant individual will recommend Madagascar treatment for any country, a country with less than 150 cases is just child's play compared to the reality of the world, they were not exposed to the virus so their recovery is just but chance, they gave the drugs to Senegal and it did not work, when they starts experiencing real cases in hundreds they'll know what's up

Orubebe01:
they don't believe that anything good can come from Africa.
With the rate of death and chaos in the everyday lives of people, anything from anywhere that works will be accepted right now. In fact Trump will like to claim that he helped people in Madagascar to develop the drug.
I sure hopes that it works, that will be great, just will like to see some real studies before buying into it.

It's pretty clear that the number of reported cases of Covid-19 is likely to spike in the weeks after the suspension of the lockdown. That's a no brainer.

But when it happens, it'll be decent to not act like a whimpish bell end.

Statements like "I said it", "I knew it", "I foresaw it", "Nobody listened", "See now" would do nothing to certify you as a knowledgeable person. You would only come off as irritating or tone-deaf at best.

A critical point to consider is the different realities that apply to different people.

For some, the effects of the lockdown has barely grazed their skins, while several others have had to endure turbulent spells of hunger and discomfort.

We all have valid arguments for and against. However, no one wished for this to happen. And now that it has, people have to forge ahead.

The suspension might be a lifeline for millions out there – people who seek to hustle to make some bucks and perhaps stock up on home supplies in the event of another lockdown.

You need not go anywhere if you have no business going. But at least try to understand that those who will, will not be doing so out of moral defiance or disregard for their own safety.

Maybe they just want to eat. Maybe they don't want to lose their jobs just yet. Maybe anything (cogent).

So again, you didn't foresee anything. You didn't say anything. We all knew.

You're not hybrid.
That's quite an assumption up there. I would have wholeheartedly agreed with the pragmatism of your thoughts if not for the fact that there are still tons of people who, despite all the overwhelming evidence, do not believe Covid 19 is real. For these lots, who may likely not see any need to adhere to safety precautions, freeing them up into the populace will be like adding gasoline to fire. And that's exactly the situation the "I told you sos" are keen to avoid as indeed "not everybody knows"

Both the Lagos Government and the Nigerian Federal Government should seek for help from better professionals that are dealing with this Corona virus better.
Obviously, the NCDC and the entire Nigerian Medical Unit are wasting lives and don't know what they are doing. The rate of death is too much, especially with the fact that there are better ways of handling the situation with minimal deaths, and which have been applied by other countries.
It's funny that the NMA was protesting for Chinese doctors not to come here...
The death rate is very high in Nigeria, it is very fücking high!
It is so insensitive of you to rubbish the sacrifice of those health workers during their jobs. How can you not appreciate their selflessness in this situation? Many of them have been infected in the process of during their job. And there you are seated on your couch relaxed typing that poo up there. Guy I am ashamed of you. The western world with all their fantastic health care system are still battling to curb the spread and stop deaths yet you rubbishing the efforts of those sacrificing themselves helping others. Guy abeg grow up already
