This bush rat has so many various types of dangerous micro organisms inside it. Its dangerous if (you must) eaten without thorough washing and thourogh cooking. Any part left not fully cooked or roasted is a potential disease cause. Roasting leaves some parts raw.

I don miss Bush meat o.

I remember that year for J4 forest in Ijebu.

We'll tell the hunters what exactly we want and under few hours they'll deliver it. Sometimes half dead.

Wash it down with Emu oguro.

same j4 along ijebuode-ore road? If it is then that place must be something. They always bring me antelope and grasscutters anytime i pass through

how did u kill it?
These rodents have destroyed all our crops and wrecked havoc on our farms and they're too fast and smart to be caught.

You don't chase after them. There is this local method someone introduced to us 7 years ago. It trapped 13 bush rodents in three days.
Now, they don't even dare touch our farm.
Nah traces of big animals we now see and that too, another local chief said he will teach us how to chase them next week.

Yes that same J4.
The place is the huge forest. Even tropical elephants dwell inside there.

You don't go chasing them around.

Go get some solid traps. Set them, Bury them a little in the soil near your crops, strategic positions.

Then make sure you include a bait that the rodents will not be able to resist. And wait for them to fall into your trap. It usually works overnight.

I used to snare them that way whenever I was in my home town. But I often gave them or simply threw them away because I don't eat flesh.

But always go ready. Sometimes, the traps don't kill them off so they stay alive until the next AM. Then we would finish them off with the butt of my late grand-dad's gun or a machete.

I hope this helps a bit.

Wow your happy you killed it right? cheesy cheesy cheesy Well feel like a hero cuz that animal you're holding, we don't hunt them at my grandma side, we hand picks them for fun. Rat is hard to catch compare to this. Last time when I took my babe to grandam side, I taught her how to catch them and it was fun. They are not sweet cuz they are too many there.

Just squirrels?? I thought you were talking about those bigger rodents.

Then you don't need such big traps. But get as many traps as possible cos those creatures are damn prolific.

Just get enough corn or groundnuts, fruits and you know the rest. In your trap.
