If you ask me, the whole argument has shifted from the main issue. Granted that some $10m has not exchanged hands, but why the hurry to pass a bill on vaccination?

Our testing capacity is still paltry, there are increasing reports of so-called "mysterious deaths" here are there. Yesterday it was Kano, today it is Jigawa and since relaxing this lockdown, I can't even predict the next destination of the "mysterious death" and yet vaccine that may not come till 2021 becomes the urgent matter for legislation!

Well as for me I am sincerely concerned if there is actually a bill in the making in this regard. I don't think that should be prioritized over any effort to better understand this virus and map out strategy on how to reduce the rate of infection while the economy remains undisputed.

I think what I made out of their concern is why the hurry. And certainly why the hurry to pass a vaccine bill?

In other words Bill Gate is the Jesus of our time. It doesn't cost much to think deeper than you've thought in the past and ask questions to challenge the norms. Let's start this way. Africa has remained backward since God knows when and the very few Africans that make their way to a white man's land comes back allot improved in all aspects but those back home continue to languish in abject poverty and illiteracy.

If Bill Gate and the Western countries truly love Africa, why don't they come and construct free electrical power plants that will improve our lives?

Why can't they have the African wing of Harvard University on the continent to train Africans to become renowned innovators so that we stop being a dependent race?

Why is their focus on vaccine and not in improving our overall medical facilities? Remember those vaccines are administered in shanty hospitals. Is that what is obtainable in their country?

Another salient point to note sir. Why are Africans still dying of malaria in this time and age while the world has moved on from such trivial pursuit?

I know at this point you'll say we're supposed to provide all these things for ourselves but remember what led us here - you believe they're doing us good by giving us vaccines.

If I'm hungry and you gimme food, you've done well but if you teach me how to make food for myself so that I won't be hungry again, then you have saved humanity. That's the point I'm driving here bro

Frankly, I do not understand why it so difficult to comprehend what I am trying to say. Adults don't get infected with polio because they were vaccinated in childhood. You can never achieve 100 percent vaccination in adults cos they are inherently difficult and radical. It is easier to vaccinate kids under the guise that you are preventing them from getting a disease than to vaccinate adults.

This is a quarantine bill, it's a very old bill, the Senate probably felt it's time to revisit it and make some adjustments.
The bill is even targeted to travelers entering and leaving the country. What is in the bill is actually not new, u can't travel to some countries if u have not taken a certain vaccine. For example u need some kinda proof that u have taken yellow fever vaccine to enter Saudi Arabia. So let's say u want to go to Saudi Arabia and you have not taken yellow fever vaccine u will be mandated to take it because Nigeria is amoung the country with high risk of yellow fever transmission.

This is what the Senate is trying to do in Nigeria, b4 entering or leaving the country you must be vaccinated from some kind of infectious diseases, not just covid 19.

My only problem with the bill is that it was plagiarized from Singapore and ncdc was not even aware of it.
