Any Available Data On Human Mortality Rate Before Corona Virus In Nigeria. by Sunmolar(op): 5:22pm On May 06, 2020
I don't want to be assuming, but based on the number of deaths due to Corona virus, I'm curious if one can juxtapose the figures of deaths in localities recorded per day before the pandemic with the figures in this lockdown period.

if we ask questions,it will help to take proactive steps on how deadly this virus is affecting the economy, individuals & corporate organizations and to forestall post pandemic challenges.

The results of these comparison should help the nation to know if lifting the lockdown totally will make a positive or negative impact on the health, welfare of individuals & to the economy at large

if pre pandemic death record is higher...then maybe lifting the lockdown totally will give a plus impact
but if pandemic death record is lower..then maybe continuing the lock down is pointing on a minus impact.

Your own analysis is welcome...

I have thought of this but I doubt if there is any such information. I do believe it will go a long way to analyze the impact of covid 19 on mortality rates in Nigeria

If I understand correctly, you're trying to check for the "Excess Mortality Rate" to know if there has been more deaths generally in the last few months compared to its statistical average, right? Not sure if one can easily find such data in Nigeria, and a reliable one at that.

The attached screenshot is from the CDC (US) website updated as at 06/05/2020. As you can observe, even with the inflated number of deaths attributed to Covid-19, the total number of deaths is still below the 3-yr average (97%).
