Lebanese Evacuee from Nigeria with Forged COVID-19 Test Result Aimed at Escaping Quarantine Spreads Virus in Lebanon

Sources of Lebanon's Ministry of Health attributed in an interview to "Al-Anbaa" Newspaper the return of new cases of COVID-19 infections to "indifference and disregard by some, since the transfer of the virus is not by those who showed symptoms of infection; indicating that one person coming from Nigeria onboard the "Middle East Airlines" who did not show symptoms produced a forged PCR result from Nigeria and was allowed to go home. Upon a repeat test that was conducted to him at the airport, his result came out positive after 72 hours. He infected his son, who is an armed forces officer working at the Military Court, who also transmitted the infection to 13 of his military colleagues, in addition to 11 of his relatives.

The sources asked: "can this incident pass unnoticed while some Arab countries are taking strict measures against individuals who cause the transmission of the infection of up to ten years in prison and fined huge sums in the event of the death of anyone to whom was transmitted the infection?"

The sources affirmed that "this issue should not be tolerated, and that the Minister of Health will raise this issue in the cabinet meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, to build on what is required." She noted that "closing the country 48 hours or 72 hours is a decision taken by the Council of Ministers, not the Minister of Health. However, from now until this decision is made, it is necessary to monitor the conditions of the infected cases to ensure their recovery with the preventive measures imposed by the ministry.

This case is being followed by more than twenty lawyers in the Military Court. In addition, the judges, investigators and some detainees will all be subject to examinations of PCR to ensure no infection was transmitted to them. " Health sources stressed that "guarding oneself is a duty and staying at home is much cheaper than losing loved ones and friends."

If you are a police officer, what will be your reaction when asked to arrest a coronavirus patient like this one?

It depends if police are well taken care of. If they are given protective kits, they cant still carry out their duty.

This is very worrying for the fact that there are people who are willing to issue forged negative results for a deadly virus.

It could mean too that people are being issued test results in Nigeria without even being tested.

This should be investigated IMHO.

Dont doctors and nurses handle infected people? Doctors and nurses are fighting bravely against a virus.
