It's not enough to put copied, post the link too: https://businessday.ng/columnist/article/time-to-end-the-nigeria-is-rich-myth This was almost exactly what I was discussing in a Whatsapp group chat with some friends recently. Nigeria is no giant of Africa. It's not population size that confers power on a country. QED. lastempero:But our current status is that we're poor. Understand English pls. |

But we are the best economy in Africa in terms of GDP. OP I know what you are saying but then, Budget is not equivalent to resources both tapped and untapped. You can make a budget of $100billion but you don't have the cash to fund it, does that mean you are wealthy?. Most of those countries you mentioned borrow to fund their budget. Forget it if not for the money our leaders have looted, Nigeria get money abeg. The money looted from Nigeria can be used to fund a budget of $50billion for ten years. Ask again if we are rich? |

Maxymilliano:Do you think this comment very appropriate ? In as much as we know that some persons are looting the scarce resources of the nation comments like this enbolden criminals and misfits. Most of us are from humble back grounds but understood very early in life that one have to struggle to change his fortunate and help to uplift our extended families but the bitter experience in Nigeria is that people look up to their better to do relatives as the one to carry their crosses. Lifting Nigeria's wealth base must be a wholistic and collective effort of everyone. The so called poor masses are the ones aiding the looting in the country when they elect to be thugs to the looting political class. |
