A heart-breaking photograph of nursery school children forced to play in 'isolation sections' in French schools has caused shock and outrage.

The photo, taken in a school in Tourcoing on the border with Belgium, shows boys and girls forced to stay away from each other inside areas marked out with chalk.

It comes after three and four-year-olds were allowed to return to classes following two months of lockdown after the French government eased restrictions this week.

Children were also shown lining up by sitting or standing on crosses spray-painted on the floor in order to stop them getting too close to one-another.

Classrooms also included floor markings with desks spaced out to keep children a safe distance apart from one-another.

They are playing. This will be so stressful for the teachers. Social distancing at this stage where kids of this age are meant to mingle within themselves. I dont think it is a good idea. Abeg let Bill Gates provide his vaccine. God is bigger than him. We need to go back to a normal life with no fear of corona...

Social education is like the best education a child can get at that age. And playing with mates is a very essential part of social education
If the French are not yet ready to education the children in all ramifications for now including social education, then they should suspend nursery education until they are ready.

Not playing with mates makes children bored and a bored child will likely not learn anything in class

Even UBA in Ikwerre, Rivers state where you think educated people stay, it didn't happen there.

Why then will it happen in Nigeria public schools

Those private schools using flats as school. One small room is primary one with 15 children inside.

This is going to be a lot of work for the teachers. Toddlers won't obey social distancing, they are usually touchytouchy at this age fa. They better continue to stay at home.

I no a nursery kid, he love to kiss his class mates anytime they see... He'll cry if you try to separate them.

And with small cold they sneeze and cough without care or control.
