Federal Government are seeing all what is happening there as it involves erosion. Until the state government prioritize the problem and draw the attention of the Federal Government, nothing may happen. The states government in that region where erosion is causing a serious problems are too relaxed concerning the effects maybe because none of their personal properties or businesses has been affected by the disaster.

The largest erosion site in Anambra (infact Nigeria) is at Agulu and Nanka. These are not typical urban areas and they don't have many high-rise buildings. These erosions have also been there for decades. It's the ease of circulation of news on SM that makes it seem like it's getting worse.
Onitsha and Nkpor have the highest concentration of high rise buildings in Anambra, but I'm not sure if they have any erosion sites.
They do..according to NEWMAP survey, Anambra has the most erosion sites in the entire south east..Yes the soils are prone to gully erosions but the moribund (or lack of) drainage systems, deforestation and poor planning are the root cause..take umuahia for example, the drainages built in the late 80s to early 90s are still being used....the problem is that population and high rise buildings has increased so those drainages can't accommodate the amount of run-off coming from those buildings.

You mentioned Umuahia as if Onitsha and Awka are ravaged by erosions.
My point is that the worst erosion sites in Anambra are in rural and semi-urban areas, and no state in Nigeria has good drainage system in their rural areas. This shows you that it isn't just about drainage and town planning.

The erosions in yorubaland are large enough to swallow the entire south east if merged together, and the mud Brown roofs can occupy the entire landmass of south east , so you are leading in both

I don't know why this land in the east is so prone to erosion. If you physically look at it, it looks very strong but small rain and everything will change. Erosion control should be a top policy priority of the east governors with strong support from FG. People continue suffering this year in year out
Government in Nigeria is not proactive, be at state or federal level. In advance worlds, they convert their weakness to strength, while we simple resign to faith by not doing anything. Venice and Amsterdam developed a city on water which attract tourist across the world. We just have governments that lack capacity to create real infrastructural development. Yet you see government praise singer all over the places. Until we understand that politicians are our employees and one cardinal responsibility beyond obeying the laws, is to demand for accountability and to show our displeasure in a very civil way.

I won't argue with you......cuz you have been brainwashed by the fact that the Yoruba land is also erosion ridded.....make em dey fool you....you hardly see landslide or mudflow occuring in West.......abi you wanna talk about Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti that has hills and mountains around even Osun state has few hills around and Oyo.......south East is a mud filled erosion enclave land that doesn't have enough ferrogenised laterite or lateritic soil...do you know the meaning of lateritic soil?...bros I have traveled to some areas in the east as a geologist....I won't trade words with someone that doesn't know nothing about geology of his land (Ajali Sandstone and Nsukka formation) I have been to Nkporo, Anambra state..see bros East is more of sedimentary rock than igneous...

I think we need to hold our leaders accountable , in western world there are underground drinages that is as big as buildings , if u stay in drinage u wont know that u are in a drinage , but in nigeria our leaders keep on stealing our money and sending their children out side country , at the end they will tell them that witches in their village will kill them , charly boy always tell u that our mumu don do .
