There are many doors in a room. You have a bunch of keys to unlock the doors. Only few keys will fit into the key holes. The doors are marked good and bad. If you were told that your opportunities were behind those doors will you still unlock the keys marked bad?
When a palm fruit falls from it's branch to the ground, if it is not picked up on time, it will stay there and start to rot. The banana cannot be plucked when it is unripe, it has to be riped before it is plucked. For the plantain some people like it unripe and some riped.
