So you enter road do your research
Well you told me to do the interview, and I told you it's you who should do it.

Clara Barton (1821-1912)

Barton found her calling as a health-care worker at age 10 when she nursed her brother back to health after he fell off a roof. At age 17 she became a teacher and later she became the first female clerk at the U.S. Patent Office and the first female clerk to be paid equal to a man's salary.

She received three marriage proposals and turned them all down. Though she thought of different men as possible lovers, no one of them measures up to her ideal of a husband her nephew Stephen said about her decision to remain single.

smiley The earlier you lots realize that marriage goes beyond walking through flowers with shiny robes to the alter or saying "I do" and signing papers the best for you. Literally, that is the definition of marriage to average Nigerian at least all we were all taught "it is a LEGAL union between a Man and a woman to become Husband and Wife ". But Many aren't taught what or who a MAN is, who a WOMAN, the silent or invisible AGREEMENT/CHOICE, Who a HUSBAND is or should be, Who the WIFE is or should be and finally what "UNION" means.
These things go way beyond legality.

The problem is, we have always laid more emphasises on the wrong things, we are taught to grow, hustle, marry, give birth, die! Whereas It should be Grow, Learn, Get exposed, Know thyself, Work, and do other things you deemed fit. It is always laid down rules we forced on ourselves which do us more harms than good most times. I wonder what a being who is yet to understand himself or herself, Know what she or he wants, Discover his or her purpose is looking for in marriage? Oh! Societal pressures maybe!

In all I'm not saying marriage is bad, neither I'm I saying it completes everybody. All I'm saying is it shouldn't come before knowing who you are. Let everyone decide what they want!

Why is this important? We have thousands of nuns and reverend sisters around us. Unlike the above profiles who somehow always have more dvcks to play with, nuns don't even get to experience sex and the pleasure that comes with it.

The traditional people are guilty of using the first statement. The non traditional (woke and feminists) are used to using the second statement.
Sadly the woke ones don't classify the second statement as oppressive as the first.

When one fights against people living out their "traditional beliefs",it is called enlightenment.
When one fights against people living their " modern beliefs " it is called oppression.

True enlightenment is giving room for those that wants to be traditional.

Earlier before, you mentioned that I mock/insult Buka for her thread but for the fact that you are inconsequential to my being here I did away with the desire to ask you to point out where I insulted or mocked the lady and graciously ignored. However seeing you have the this uncontrollable urge to drag me into whatever feud going on with the ladies here, I will not watch you label me as what I'm not or create a false reputation of me.

Any further attempt or mention to involve me in your childish tantrums/controversies here would be reported. It is advisable you have some self respect and maintain your lane. Thanks.

Reverse pyschology! Well sir if I call the mods on you, it wont make me a kid, but rather a mature mind putting a check to a disturbed mind's excesses without going back and forth. Try that kid stuff with someone else, ain't buying it.

Are we really doing this again? Can't you just move on from that thread? Seriously?

May I remind you that I ignored you earlier but you didn't get the drift and brought your issues here again. You should probably type your last paragraph to yourself multiple times until you understand it.

The truth is it's not easy finding that worthy person. Some of us dont know what good marriages looks like judging from our parents own. Reading stories here everyday is a nightmare, it's better to be single than miserable in marriage. Have kids if you want to

Modified; SINGLE basically means I AM NOT MARRIED, not that they didnt have partners or whatever. And that to me is saving themselves from lot of marriage commitments that dont even hold water these days. Na scam love remain so

If you think so, then so shall it be.
You don't expect people doing well in there marriages to come online and start shouting about it.
If you want to see people with good marriages, change your circle because people i mingle with 90% have good marriages in this same nigeria.
If you want to be single and hopping on dicks regularly, it is your choice but don't downgrade marriage due to your own shortcomings in it.
Naturally, people hate or don't like things they fail at.
Most employees don't like business because they don't have what it takes to succeed in it. It is very easy for you to see a dull student who doesn't like going to school and someone that hates church will always downgrade it.
You may be succesful in other parts of your life like finance, business etc but so far so good, in relationship cum marriage, i believe you failed.

Why should I celebrate women who avoid marriage but actually have more sex without commitment? It's like telling me to celebrate pro. stitutes just because they're unmarried as a result of booming business. cheesy

Greta Garbo

In 1955, film legend Greta Garbo told TIME Magazine, “If I could find the right person to share my life with, I would. If you are blessed, you are blessed, whether you are single or married.”

The screen star was close to getting married once; in 1927, she left her former co-star and longtime love, Jack Gilbert, at the altar on their wedding day. Garbo wasn’t the warmest person towards those she wasn’t acquainted with and for many years, a rumored relationship between she Mimi Pollak was often discussed.
She was a notorious recluse

Charlize Theron

Like many other successful actresses on our list, Theron has had several high-profile relationships, but has never been married. Instead, she won an Oscar for Monster (2003), starred in over 60 films, and is actively producing many projects. But most importantly, Charlize is a mom. She adopted 2 kids in 2012 and 2015 and raises them as a single mom.
Theron explained her stance on being single in 2014: “I’m sure there are a lot of aspects to my life that a lot of people wouldn’t want... Just personal choice things, like the fact that I’m single at 38. That’s not necessarily what a lot of women want... But I’m just saying, a life is good if it’s the life that you want... But I work at that, you know?”
Why is she on the list? Charlize is a shitty mother and has no business being allowed to raise kids.

Even if the average lady were to open up about being intentionally single, many of you still won’t believe them. In fact you will make extra effort twisting yourselves into unheard of shapes in order to try and prove to them that you know their lives better than they know it themselves.

Someone will say they are masking their sadness. And those of you who shame single women will like them for saying such.

As long as you have convinced yourself that a woman is nothing without a man, no amount of logic will change you. Logic and ego don’t mix.

One common occurence in the women the OP used is that they all had bf's in their early youth stage...Meaning at that point, they believed in relationships...But as They became mini-celebrities( independent) they began to see no need for those cravings anymore.
Now the most important reason humans are on earth is to pro-create..
But God/nature had to make it possible for a woman to just pro-create one man's genes and so the man can support his genes, equip them with all d necessities for survival hence the need for marriage...
But in the world we live in now, a woman can have sex anytime she wants and she still get to decide which of their babies she wants to carry and with this mentality at the back of their minds coupled with the fact that they are independent, the see no need to submit to a man...
I'LL END WITH THIS: A WOMAN CAN BE FULFILLED WITH/WITHOUT MARRIAGE BUT SHE CANT FEEL THE SAME WITHOUT A CHILD ( BE IT HERS/ADOPTED)...the few who claim they dont need a child already have at least a child from their past so they wont understand..

She was dedicated to the abolition of slavery and workers' rights but marriage was not on her mind. She organized anti-slavery campaigns and fought for women's right to vote. Has any of the ladies you mentioned here told any woman on this forum not to get married? Where do you see women telling other women not to get married? Where are women ridiculed for choosing a husband? I think you are making things up. We both know that Nigerians are notorious for disturbing people who do not choose a spouse "on time". I don't see anyone being looked down on for their choice to get married. Please, let us be realistic.
