The numbers of people tested are relatively too small. There are probably much more people infected than the figures announced. This also means that the likelihood that more people will be infected even before they have the opportunity to be tested. Ghana with much less population has tested over 100,000 people while Nigeria has testes just over 12,000 people. Nothing seems to be working in this government. Nigeria is indeed a sinking ship. May God have mercy on us.

Massive testing can only be done in the very beginning when you're trying to isolate the cases and curb spreading. But with how far the virus has gone and how scattered it is amongst various state, massive testing will surely defeat the purpose of a curb, as being tested today does not mean that you wont be exposed to the virus one way or another the next day. So countries like Ghana with their 100,000 tests are just wasting money as the virus is already everywhere. US with it's 10million tests still have the virus multiplying daily. At this point, the only thing the world needs is vaccine or cure.

But does that account for the snail pace testing? It is ridiculous that only about 30K tests have been conducted thus far INSPITE of all the claims that our testing capacity has been expanded. We just don't know what to believe anymore.

If you ask me, since they cannot carry out adequate tests to scale down the rate of transmission, let us forget about this Covid-19 fight and live our lives as it is clear Nigerians are collectively immune to this virus.

But we should. Massive testing is the only way to contain the virus since there's no cure yet. Massively test and isolate positive cases so they won't go about spreading the virus, just like China did.

And someone could test negative today, pick up the virus the next day and go about spreading people. In fact this situation might be worse as he might not even be tested again.

Massive testing only has an edge in the very beginning to curb the virus. When the things spreads, anything short of testing the whole 200 million Nigerians at once would be counter productive.
