uvie66:I think a lot of you are misinformed. The government is not unaware of the plight of those living in such environments. Locking down in the face of these realities is just an attempt to decrease the number of infection. An attempt to stop the spread in the process of commuting to the city centres, open markets, churches, schools, etc. It's, fine if you and your cotenants in the "face me I face you" apartment contract the virus, just don't take it out to the school, work, church, etc. This was government's initial idea. Same way many of you advised the government to shut the borders and airports. |

The truth is that everybody is confused. We don't know what to do again. Stay indoors will lead to mass hunger. Easing lockdown will still lead to mass virus spread and our health officials will be overwhelmed rejecting patients without covid cause of fear. Our health officials have families too who depend on them. Some are breadwinners. The only solution am still thinking is Stay indoor with mass palliatives from the government. All the recovered stolen funds should be channel to the streets for food. Suspend all road infrastructures for now. Foods should be the urgent matter now if they are planning another lockdown. All these shall pass |

Acidosis:You really didn't understand what she meant did you? Lol... She is just saying looking at the present situation in Nigeria, lockdown or no lockdown, the virus would have still spread. The only people who'll have a semblance of REAL lockdown will be the big men living in isolated houses. How do the "poor" living in those kind of houses she mentioned practice lockdown? |

Acidosis:How then do the government know if their policies are working if testing is very low and the data they collate is unreliable, because without testing you don't know who have contracted the disease. |

What exactly are you smoking? Are blacks not lazy and hungry? What is racist about calling out pretenders! a poor man is a poor man! People that have never achieved anything significant on earth! Blaming every other race for the poverty and incompetence of their forefathers (who were enslaved to a pulp!) The current generations is still even enslaved to stupor! with all countries governed by blacks wallowing in excruciating poverty everywhere in the world! (No single exception) ... the monkeys are desperate to have US join the list, as if anything good has come out of black leadership anywhere in the world! Blacks are furked up and own that shit! Stop begging and forcing people to respect you! Respect can only be faked it cannot be coerced! It flows from evidence of exploit! Learn to suffer fools! Gladly, maybe someday they will be tired of their misery and recieve sense! Exc2000: |

Yampotatocarrot:Well since the government failed in the area of providing reasonable palliatives, a lot of people didn't really adhere to most of the lockdown orders. Beyond palliatives, there's also a problem of ignorance fuelled by a high level of illiteracy, which is why people won't adhere to other policies like social distancing, nose masks, hand washing, etc. |

uvie66:God bless you for the part written in capital letters. Those were the kind of questions I expected the journalists at the PTF briefing to ask those PTF members. But no, most of them were asking useless questions. |

Acidosis:I will disagree with you of course the government are aware, I personally live in London in a household of 4, but when I visit Nigeria I see my relatives that reside in a face to face, what I am essentially saying is Buhari himself will know someone living a life of penury in Daura. |

uvie66:most common, yes! But can covid19 patients have diarrhea and vomiting? Absolutely! Seizures and breathing problems aren't common symptoms of malaria, for example, but both can and do occur in patients with malaria. |
| Re: UNICEF Warns Lockdown Could Kill More Than COVID-19 by Yampotatocarrot(m): 8:17am On May 17, 2020 |
Acidosis:You are very correct. I saw your other post where you said you initially supported the lockdown believing they'll follow it with aggressive testing which unfortunately they didn't. That was a wise statement, Sir. . Looking at the current situation though, no vaccine or drug in view, plus the low death rate of Covid-19, I'll just suggest they allow things go back to normal. It's not as if you can keep people indoor till a vaccine is discovered |

These were the same points Seyi Makinde raised as against total lockdown. Isn't he vindicated? Our leaders level of thinking is low |

HeadNigga:A very foolish decision. True. Copying and pasting “solutions” from Western nations that have the logistics, infrastructure and economy to manage a draconian lockdown is just foolish. |

uvie66:I believe the government is aware that these policies have failed particularly in Lagos. The moment about 200 of 1300+ samples came positive (and 60% of the positive got infected via community transmission), I lost interest in the idea of lockdown. I don't see the government improving its testing capacity because it is too late. Thankfully, mortality rate as we were told is low so we would have to somehow live with the virus. |

uvie66:No, but I would not be able to convince you on this. ...but I hope you're aware that the decision to shut the airports has affected the well off in a great deal even though it's not targeted at them? |
