Just to be double sure, I've heard it over and again that if a girl is celibate for a long time say 5 to 6 years before getting pregnant that she'll have some birth complications because the cervix has contrasted so much due to lack of sexual activities. How true is this?

Does celibacy tighen the cervix?

I also read somewhere that a lady fainted due to severe pains from sex on her wedding cos she was celibate for a long time after. And a doctor said its because she was sexually active before going celibate, that if she was a virgin it wouldn't have tightened so much.

Now, How true is this too? Like after being sexually active briefly then you go into celibacy for a very long time? And if its true, how or what can one do to prevent such scenario ( fainting) and the pains. Any dilating drugs or remedy.

Please a kind hearted doc should give suggestions or help clear the above.

ntam Eulalia, I don't even need your conviction. I don't have answers for someone who keeps denying not being dickmatised often.

First of all, sexual activity is not meant to get to cervix. Secondly, cervix opens on its own as labour progresses. Infact if cervix doesn't open during child birth, it's not because of sexual activity and there is nothing anyone can do, the woman will be wheeled in for CS.

In the event of limited sexual activity, let's say the husband and wife are not physically together, she should use olive oil to massage, slightly stretch her vagina opening say 10mins daily from 8 months to avoid tearing or episiotomy.

If you are not married, don't allow silly assumptions push u into what you shouldn't be doing. All the best.

yes I am s kind hearted doctor so here is my response.

Staying celibate for a long period of time doesn't tighten the vagina or revirginize you. but the tissues of the vagina may get out of the habit of relaxing in response to arousal or insertion, and may then need to be coached back into it the next time you have sex.


Meaning,when you choose to have sex, your vagina will not relax or be ready to receive the penis as it has been doing in the past,this may cause pain....
It doesn't mean your vagina will be tighter,it means your vagina will not relax and receive the penis normally without pain

No, that's not true, Some people marry as virgins, get pregnant and deliver without tear. The female anatomy works wonders when its time to deliver.

Yeah I know. But fear is, for someone who had sex briefly initially and stopped for a very long period. The doctor said the pain is usually 3 times more excruciating. So wanted to know how true that is and if there are ways to prevent such. And also if it affects child delivery.
