Hey nairalanders! I've got a problem. Anytime I subscribe maybe 1000 ,it will finish within 5 days when it supposed to last for a month. I don't know what is wrong with my phone or my SIM. Even if I of the data and Wi-Fi, it will still keep on running . Someone is saying that I might be sharing data with someone. How will I know? Please can anyone help me out?

Muna, chill, its easy. Here are one or two things to do

1) Go to youtube and search for HOW TO REDUCE MOBILE DATA CONSUMPTION..... it will show you hidden apps and settings that are killing your data

2) Download a wifi or data scan app or even a good VPN that shows who is connected and what they are browsing on... so you can DISCONNECT them easily.

3) the BITTER TRUTH is... most of these mobile networks have tweaked their 1000 naira data plans so it runs out so fast, kindly use SAMSUNG VPN to browse, simply download it and upgrade to premium(for free) and ensure you are using MTN

I dont see any problem with the way your data dissapears I use 1gb or 1.5gb per day

if your line is being shared with someone else,you will always receive notifications showing the number you are sharing data with,when you exhaust ur data.
On the other hand, download the Glo app,you can monitor it from there

Wait o but how does 1000 data last u a month

Place a password on your Wifi, even if you think it is off, just do that first and check consumption again.

Dail *127*00# you will see any number sharing your data, jot the number down, dail *777# and choose 1 to buy data, select 4 you will see the share data option, select unshare data option, paste the phone number you jotted down in the space you see, that is all.

The problem is the applications in your phone , runing under background data , each time you switch on your data all the applications are updated and your data keeps running unnoticed...

You can only transfer data from 10 MB to 100 MB on mtn someone can not add their number permanently, so the answer is "NO"

I've followed the instructions to unshare but I'm still seeing the numbers. Will it disappear soon?

When you get to the unshare section type the number you jotted down earlier when you dialed *127*00# and they will no longer have access to your data again.

I only know about glo, if u want to check if someone is using ur data on glo network just dial *127*00# and u will see all the numbers dat are sharing your data.

well,the thing is you can check and monitor your data online easily without any fuss, i believe you're using glo... turn on your data and open a browser of your choice, though i recommend chrome or firefox goto https://hsi.glo.com click my account at the right hand corner and you'll see the sharing tab, if you're sharing with someone you'll see it and be able to remove it instantly.
